Convert HTML static site to WP but “HTML Import 2” is out of date

I’ve read the alternatives to converting a full HTML site to WP and they recommend the “easiest” way is to use “HTML Import 2”, but it is not recommended for the current version of WP. Does anyone have any experience of using this tool recently? Or any other recommendations?

Hi,
I have a lot of HTML pages (which I created for a html site previously but never uploaded) with a huge amount of text interspersed (mixed) with enormous number of images. Now I want these html pages converted to wordpress and incorporate them in my WordPress site.
Is there any shortcut or simple and easy way to convert all these html pages into wordpress or wordpress-ready condition with all the text and images remaining in their correct places? Normaly, I think I can copy+paste the text, but linking / embedding the innumerable big and small images in between various paragraphs or chunks of text individually would be really a herculean task – in fact, impossible for me at this point.
What can I do now? Can anybody offer any solution???

How to Import URLs along with HTML Page?

So I am migrating one of my website from static HTML to WordPress and changing the domain name as well.
But the Static HTML is website is having around 2000+ Blog Posts with unique URLs.
While the HTML Import 2 is successfully able to import those blogs, is it possible to import them into the same URLs well? Right now, its changing the URL to that one of the new WordPress permalink structure.

For example:
Old Blog Post URL: abc.com/1234post
New Blog Post URL should also be: bcd.com/1234post

Please help, as it would help me a lot and make it easier for me to create a wildcard redirect

I’m working on a temporary domain where I’ve installed WordPress and HTML Import 2. I tried to import everything from a former HTML import (almost 500 pages) and it looks like all the pages got imported, but only 9 images were imported. How do I get all images to import and also link properly to the pages where they are placed in the old html site? Thanks in advance for any help.

HTML Import 2 – Oops can I revert redirects for WP system files that I imported?

Hopefully someone can help with this…I accidentally imported some of the WP-content files (in the plugins folder for example) so now they’re redirected to my site URL! I’m assuming this is not OK? Is it possible to undo this?! I’ve searched everywhere for help with this but can’t find! I understand it’s not possible to undo the import, but is there a way I can change the WP files that shouldn’t have been imported back to how they’re supposed to be? Maybe in the .htaccess? Thanks in advance for any help!

Import HTML files as WordPress linked pages

I want to import static HTML files into WordPress as posts or pages.
I found the plugin “HTML Import 2”, which copes with its task but relinking does not work. This seems to be due to the fact that the plug-in support was discontinued about 3 years ago and now there are errors in its operation.

Are there any alternatives to using this plugin?

After spending over a week with in-house developers, web hosting advanced customer service, added php memory, purchased a whole new site for clean install, emails to the developer, posting o boards, etc, we have not been able to import even one page. Even the hosting company worked on it personally. We have attempted a direct full import, small directory files, etc in an attempt to overcome the fatal errors to no avail. Maybe this is a main reason there has been no update to the plugin in several months. Point of interest, we have also attempted the import conversion ontwo different WP releases. Poor execution.

We have been attempting to convert a site, pageantrymagazine.com, into a WordPress theme for supposed ease-of-use for our non-technical team who do not code, but need need to update a page or add a page quickly if a newsworthy event presents itself.The site is quite extensive (since 1999) and has several languages. The install parameters were followed extensively, all formats listed, etc. We have attempted numerous imports and after several hours receive a fatal memory error. We have spent over three days with our host provider also attempting to import files, even going as far as choosing small directories, increasing memory, providing another server with full space for testing, etc. Same crash challenge. One of the errors is as listed:

They feel the memory in the importer may not be large enough. As stated, the site is large with over 6500 pages.

The conversion plug-in we have been attempting to use is HTML Import 2.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Dreamweaver Template Editable Region Not Importing

Hi There,

Dreamweaver Template Editable regions for some reason are importing blank on all site pages.

The problem is identical as per the post on this topic of 4 years ago https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/dreamweaver-template-region/

I tried all variations single/double/no quotes around the region name plus double checked the name case of the region. Like the other poster I could get the import to work for HTML tag and Entire File but not editable region.

Editable Region Name: Content

The editable region is nested four div levels down if that is an import limitation for the plugin? However the code is well structured for an older site. The problem occurs for all pages on the site being converted, not just the example link to the page provided.

I just found this plugin and wanted to use it in order to import my HTML website content in my WordPress website. However I get the following errors when doing so:
