Crop position – image details vs. general settings

I can change the crop position for a specific custom image size in the General Settings, but I can’t set a different crop position for a specific image in its Details and Options dialogue box. If I select a different crop location in the image details and click Regenerate, the image crop doesn’t change and the selection reverts to the General default.

Is there a way to allow the image options interface to override the general setting? We use a couple of custom sizes that have odd proportions, so the best crop position varies from image to image. It would be very helpful to be able to regenerate those sizes with a different crop position for certain images without having to change the general setting and then change it back afterward.

I put this on every site I work on now. I love how it gives me a detailed view of media files in the list view. Indispensable!

Maybe this could become an advanced feature in the Renamer plugin. Just a thought.

Editing Image

There is something wrong with the styling in my backend when I want to edit my Image Details in the Classic Editor. Is there any way to fix this or to reset the styling?

I added a media deduper plugin, but after I used it, my image details default settings seem to have changed. Now each image that I insert in a post is set to link to “custom URL” instead of “media file” and I have to manually check “open in a new tab” for each image.

I’d like every image I insert into a post to link to “media file” and to open in a new tab. Is it possible to set a default for that?

The change also affected every previous post, so when I go to a historical post and click on an image, instead of opening the full-size image, I get an error message:

“Oops! That page can’t be found.
It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try a search?”

Before I installed the deduper, all images in all posts opened up to a full-size image when I clicked on them. It would be GREAT not to have to individually fix thousands of images in my previous posts. I believe the problem is that they’re now linking to custom URLs instead of media files.

Image Details Edit Option Missing From Visual Mode

Ever since the 4.2.1 upgrade, the menu that shows up when you click on an image while editing a post which would give you the option to edit the image, alignment, etc won’t show. If I click the image a bunch of times the menu shows up for a quick moment and goes away again. I think the issue is related to the TINYMCE but i cannot find any errors in the javascript console on any browser.

Any thoughts?

Update button when editing attached media

Hi guys,

Some time ago this was a really nice feature. When editing the attached images in a post, I was able to only change the values in the fields for a particular image, hit the “enter” key on my keyboard which triggered the “update” button function. Now, it is really hard for me to only have this option to “click” to update the changes in the image fields.

I usually have 2 or 3 posts daily with 60-100 images and having this keyboard option saves a lot of time for me. Does anybody know how to make the “enter” key work when editing the images in a post?

Image Details Advanced Options… what do i put in the Image CSS Class?

I have the Twenty Twelve theme. On the thumbnail images, i have the Title Attribute filled in but I don’t like the color theme i.e. yellow background. There’s a place I can enter the Image CSS Class in the Image Details Advanced Option right underneath the Title Attribute, but I’m new to this and have no idea what to put there to change the background color.

All I want to do is change the text to white and the background to black. Please help!

Custom Size for Images Hosted Outside of WP

So I noticed that if I upload an image directly into my gallery I can then select the option for custom size as demonstrated in this:

However, if I use something like Imgur to host instead (which 98% of all of my images are stored), I can’t do the same. Any reason for that or am I missing a setting? I know in previous version, even 3.8.3, there was an advanced settings for not only size but padding, borders, etc as has been posted before.

I miss some features in the dialog box for image details:
– A checkbox to open link in new window
– A field to add custom CSS classes

These features would also be good to have when you’re in the dialog box for inserting media, so you do not need to open additional dialog boxes.
