I already had a domain with Google (jmdworks.org). After moving the WordPress install, I changed the domain’s Name Servers as Ionos’ instructions dictated. I set up the domain as an “external domain,” which from what I read seemed like the correct way to do it. However, as you can see why visiting the domain I get a ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED error.
According to my Ionos account, my “Domain connection is being updated.” When looking at the domain in my account it shows a preview of the site as it should look. I’ve also “connected” the domain to the WordPress install via my Ionos account.
However, when I go into the settings of my WP install, it still shows the temporary URL of when I was installing/ testing WP under WordPress Address rather than the URL it should be (which is in Site Address).
I’ve gone through Ionos’ help docs but I haven’t been able to find anything that seems to help. I’m completely stuck with what’s going on here so any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
]]>Can someone help me out setting this plugin up?
I’ve installed it and added the shortcode [fullcalendar] to a page, even tried the php snippet but nothing is showing on my page. Not even an empty calendar.
I have tried setting the post type to normal posts and to a custom post type but neither of them works.
Thanks in advance!

]]>I guess Im also a bit unclear on what this plugin is supposed to do. I am using NextGen to display my albums and images. I installed NGFB so that I could have a button that shows up in the lightbox that allows people to share my images on FB. Is this what the plugin should do? Is there any documentation available that does not assume I am an experienced WordPress developer?
Thanks!

]]>I am relatively new to the whole back end side of things when it comes to setting up a site. I have done so using BlueHost and other hosting services.
At the moment, I am working on installing WordPress and getting set up on a “staging” site. The hosting is through a private party (not a BlueHost or anything just a company the client has been using for quite some time)
I logged in to the ftp using FileZilla and created a staging folder, downloaded and unzipped WordPress and uploaded it to the staging directory on the ftp. When I go to examplesite.com/staging I get a prompt to set up wp-config.php file.
I have entered the Database Name and login that was provided by the developer (it was the same info used to log in to the ftp) This did not work, I got an error saying it was unable to connect.
I contacted the developer and they suggested using localhost in the Database Host field. I did that and used the same login info and got a different screen that said, unable to set up wp-config.php file and that I have to do this manually.
I’m guessing I don’t have a localhost set up? Can anyone provide basic and clear step by step instructions or know what I’m doing wrong? I love learning this stuff but am a designer by trade so clear simple step by step is helpful. I have looked at many of the forum pages on here already for setting up a localhost but still have questions… Does this mean the site will be run on my personal computer? If I shut my computer off will the “staging” site go down?
Thank you in advance for any and all advice/help.
]]>OR
Can we just have wordpress installed in the internal hard drive of every computer that we want to swap to and use it that way?
We have the latest downloads of each program as of today 4th December 2013.
I think I can handle the installation just want to know what is best from the above options.
1. Installed it on it’s own ip-adress;
2. Set “define( ‘SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL’, true );” in the config.php;
3. Reset the .htacces document to the right code.
Now when I try to create a new subdomain I get the message that WordPress had already been installed, and that I’ll need to delete the directory to install a new copy. When hitting the back button the website does show up in the list of “sites”, but I get an server error message when visiting it (cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi). Manually creating a subdomain folder before creating a new website doesn’t seem to matter.
What steps am I missing/doing wrong?
,Sincerely
