]]>I want to create a WordPress blog, but the IT dept will not allow me to host it on the www.example.com server.
I can host the blog with Dreamhost, but I want the blog address to be www.example.com/blog.
A reason for having the blog is the SEO benefit it will bring to www.example.com, so it’s important I find a solution that is SEO positive.
Can you help?
Thanks, Dan
Well ive recently installed wordpress on my local machine with xampp. I have done quite a bit of reading but im still confused about what to do.
Basically I want to have a blog in this site https://www.elliothesp.co.uk/elliot2
The blog would be on a seperate page of course, but I would want to have a list of my blogs and a search icon where the main content is now.
Seems simple enough (he says).
What would be the best way to do this? Download a similar theme and start changing the css? Or try and build it from scratch?
Could anyone please give me some links to helpful guides, there is so many rubbish ones out there

]]>I’ve already tried:
<?php require_once(“YOURABSOLUTEPATHHERE/wp/wp-blog-header.php”);?> <?php get_header(); ? >
//
<?php get_footer(); ?>
And just plain:
<?php get_header(); ? >
//
<?php get_footer(); ?>
But, those don’t seem to be working. My site is https://egolicious.net and I’ve tried those PHP Includes on my “About” page (https://egolicious.net/about.php). It just keeps giving me this message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘/’ in /home/egolicio/public_html/about.php on line 1
And I don’t know what that means =S. Please help!

]]>As i said the query i have is about intergrating the wordpress part with the remainder of the site. I have a 2 column layout on my site with a navigation column on the left and main content on the right. I would like to be able to add the wordpress index page to the right column and keep it so that it fits the layout perfectly and i can keep my navigation bar. Is there an easy way to do this?
I was thinking that i might just need to get a template for wordpress that suits my needs, but i’m not 100% sure.
Any advise would be most appricated. Thanks
]]>Here is my idea:
I wanted to fit WP or a blogging prog into into my design layout, I wanted the blogging to fit into a dark blue content box to the right of the sidebar. The area will be called “read all about it.” My blogs will primarily be use to update content for my fans of my latest news instead of hard codeing. I would likearchive the most recent blogs to the left in the sidebar below my main navigational links. Then anything past the point of recent would go to an archive page.
I then want to devote an entire area of my site that you can get to through navigation that will be a collection of journals that myself and a few other writers will update with whatever we choose. That will be more blogging style but still want the overall look of my site to be the same. I want the banner at the top to be the logo of my site, not the titel of my new blog because it will be my site, the blogging will just be a better way of updaeting rather then hard codeing.
Okay so thata€s the layout.
Here is the link to the template design I have right now: https://www.lonniebruhn.com/rearend/index.tml.html
This tml is a design that was layed out by modified css for MT but I don’t think they’ll work out because its buggie and the worst support I have ever delt with, I just want to move on.
Please rescue me, I can’t continue until I figure it out.
