I’m creating a recruitment site and keep coming across the same issue. Naturally the jobs that we list will sometimes have the same post name. For example, if we’re recruiting for multiple Developers in London we would have job listings for:
Full Time Developer in London – /full-time-developer-in-london
and
Full Time Developer in London – /full-time-developer-in-london-2
I want to find a way to append the Job ID to the permalink to avoid getting duplicate URLs and URLs that contain the -2
I’ve gone into Settings > Permalinks and changed the structure of job post types to be /%postname%-%post_id%/ but that just returns the following:
/full-time-developer-in-london-1234
/full-time-developer-in-london-2-5678
/full-time-developer-in-london-3-9876
How can I get the permalink structure setup so that I can have the same job name + job ID in the URL without getting the -2, -3 etc?
Thanks in advance!
]]>I’ve just started using your plugin. It’s great.
One question I have is regarding the Job ID
field, which appears in the Job Openings
list page, and also in the emails sent to applicants. Presumably this is a unique identifier that you need to remain, but I wonder if there’s a way to not have this Job ID shown to applicants in the email they receive?
I’ve just bought the PRO plugin by the way, so perhaps that will enable this to not be included?
Thanks in advance…
]]>Looking at the shortcode reference page, it was easy enough to make a page containing the shortcode [job id=”x”] which did exactly what I wanted.
But I need to be able to construct a hyperlink with a querystring that performs the same function.
I’ve tried mysite.com/job/?id=x and a dozen variations of that, and just cannot figure out how to make it work. TIA.

Thanks!

If anyone can help i would be grateful.

]]>I am using Post Status Notifier to send an email when a job expires – is there a way to either do this without using PSN (email admin/poster when job has expired) or if not, is there a simple way to get the Job-ID into the subject line?
Thanks
