Need some simple help finding a theme

This may not be the appropriate forum to post this topic in, if so just ley me know & I will repost in the correct forum. I have created a couple of WordPress websites, but not what you would call a developer, but I know the process enough to create a couple simple websites for myself and business.

I have a friend, who writes & records cover music, and he wants me to create a simple 2 or 3 page website where his music can be searched by artist name or song name. Once the artist and/or song is narrowed down & selected I want a sample .mp3 song to play. I don’t really feel I need a complicated theme to accomplish this, seems a simple search option would be all I need, but I have no idea how or where to begin. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

WordPress, Jukeboxes, Multiple platforms….

This is just a general question about what WordPress can do. I just found out about it and have never used it.

Basically, I was searching the WEB for a Jukebox that can be viewable in PC, MAC as well as iPads, iPhones, etc. I already have a website but the jukebox cannot be viewed on an iPad or iPhone or anything else that will not accept FLASH based programs which is what the Jukebox on my site was built with. What could I do with WordPress that would aid me in creating an embeddable jukebox for my site? Am I on the right track here? I am still a bit foggy as to what WordPress is. Is it a language (scripting), does it build web pages with HTML(5)? Just trying to get a feel of what WordPress is and if it would help me accomplish what I am trying to do.

Thanks in advance to anyone who would be kind enough to give me a little direction.

I’m currently in the process of redesigning an audio intensive site for a client that’s going to need a jukebox and/or MP3 plugin to play a lot of samples of audio clips. Currently, I’ve got one done in Flash but I need one that’ll work on both the web browser and the iPad/IPhone/Mobile devices that don’t support Flash. I tried Zina but I hate the interface and it’s just too much for what I want. All I really need is a way to list the clips and have a play and pause button(s). Anyone know of a plugin that’s widgetized to work in the sidebar?

I’m trying to create a blog for a weekly songwriting competition.

Does anyone know of a good audio player plugin that allows end users to upload files to a common multi-track jukebox?

The idea being: all the songwriters upload their songs to a single jukebox, everyone listens to the songs and then votes on their favorite.

Thoughts?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate!
