Will you continue to support this plugin or has the plugin been abandoned to rot in the plugin graveyard?

It not been updated for nine months and support questions from people seems to go unanswered, so I think it is a fair question to ask and receive an answer too also.

You do not want to invest a lot of time in and install something that you have to remove again within a short timeframe..

I also read several persons mentioning that it has been flagged as security risk, has this been fixed?

We are running videos inside our posts for a food blog, with javascript codes provided to us by our ad company, using the JWPlayer platform. We’ve also been using AMP HTML for a couple of years and have been trying to add AMP video codes manually to the video codes they provide us. Over these 2 years, we’ve seen the long codes sometimes turn into short codes automatically in our post editor – something we suspected JWPlayer’s javascript would execute in the browser. It is very weird, but happens all the time. The end result does not appear to be affected: the video still plays, even if code automatically getting shorter is a bizarre experience for a site owner.

We contacted our ad partner, and they confirmed the stripping issue, but mentioned it is a known issue with the Yoast SEO plugin. Why would Yoast remove code we insert into a WordPress post? The code comes from JWPlayer and seems fine.

Another thing we noticed was the AMP video codes also tend to disappear. We load them. We save them. We test it works on the AMP page. Then we come back 3 months later and the AMP video code is gone! As we loaded 13 new videos this week I was able to reproduce the behavior and captured it in a 1 minute demo (https://youtu.be/g-JnMGX5A40). What I suspect is happening, is that Yoast is also removing the AMP HTML video code in the same process? The result is the videos we loaded for AMP are lost each time we make an unrelated update to the post in the visual editor.

Here is how you can reproduce the bug:
1. Take a WordPress post and add an JWPlayer long code
2. Add the AMP video code
3. Save and check everything’s there
4. Make a change to the post in the visual editor. In our example we just added a “read more” tag.
5. Save
6. The long video code is now shortened to a single line, and the AMP video code is gone.

In earlier versions already, one had to UNtick all “Reduce HTTP requests through …” options in order to be able to let site visitors play jwplayer media (video/audio). That’s okay, no challenge.

Now I noticed that since the newest update (or since an earlier update?) the only chance to play media files is to DEACTIVATE WP Fastest Cache altogether.

Understandably, the big jwplayer house can’t and won’t do anything about it (“get a better caching plugin…”), but if I can I’d like to keep WP Fastest Cache (and activated).

Any chance you could look into it why the current version results in “file can not be played” (access rights conflicts), while your earliest versions didn’t have that problem?

After some tests we have decided to change this plugin for native Youtube videos. The problem is after plugin deactivation old videos are not working.

Is it possible to bulk migrate old videos with shortcodes like [jwplayer mediaid=”224168″] to the real url?

I have used Kim woodbridge’s instruction to create individual links for my thumbnails in Nextgen gallery.

If someone can please help me with this php code to use individual thumbnail to call video into a player that is at the top of the same page.
