It is indisputable fact that vast majority of websites in Serbia, and their visitors prefer Latin over Cyrillic. We are speaking for over 90% of cases!

Why can’t we just have Serbian (Latin) as option in native wordpress setup?

The plugins that are used for that (Transliteration etc) are unreliable, slowing down everything and making life more difficult.

What does it need to happen so that this becomes acknowledged? And why are we denying these facts for so long?

Issue with special characters

I am having issues with non-English characters.

The supposed characters should display as follows:

But showing as this:

I reproduced this issue on a fresh installation with the latest WordPress along with web stories plugin with twenty twenty-three theme and the issue is present. Even on different servers too. Normal post text or menu text don’t have this issue. Only text with in web stories including title having this problem

Hello,
By default, Loco Serbian is on Cyrillic, so so what is the easiest way, or how to convert from Serbian Cyrillic to Latin. I tried to use plugin, but the only plugin that I founded makes me problems, and website braked own…
If I use Croatian or Bosnian, there are lot of words that I have to change…

When using simple Xpath get value by attribute name {attrs/a[@name="Rozmiar pier?cionków"]} it doesnt work because it contains non-standard character ? ó . I couldnt wrap my head around it.

After long searching I found https://gist.github.com/trey8611/7b6e79e6610f9d2b06257fb570f05e03 “WP All Import – use XPath Query based on Cyrillic attribute value” from trey8611.

So for example: Rozmiar pier?cionków

SEO search of Website gives inexistent Latin pages.

When doing a search for my website on a search engine, pages are said to exist that don’t. They display as being written in Latin. When clicked on they bring me 404 of the website.

I’ve looked in the pages and post section of WP admin, and could not find any unaccounted for let alone one going by “Varius Duis at Consectetur”.

My wordpress with woocommerce is based in two language variant (alphabet) – cyrillic and latin. Cyrillic is a primary. Search by tags (for now i need just search by tags) works great with cyrillic but not for latin. Any suggestion?

Serbian Dinar in Latin Script

Dear Community members,

For a long time, there was an error in WooCommerce regarding Currency Symbol for Republic of Serbia. It was Dinar (Дин). In latest versions, it is changed, and now it is Dinar (Рсд).

But, one problem is still there: Serbian language can be written both in Cyrillic as well as in Latin script. In almost 100%, webshops in Serbian language are made with Latin script.

Serbian currency is available in WooCommerce only in Cyrillic script (РСД).

It would be great if WooCommerce would offer Serbian Dinar in two variants: RSD (Latin), and РСД (Cyrillic).

The plugin is necessary and, most importantly, working. Made my own translation (RU), it works correctly, but it is upsetting that the names of temporary users should only be in Latin. It is also not possible to assign the status of “Temporary” to previously registered users.

Плагин нужный и, главное, рабочий. Сделал свой перевод (RU), работает корректно, но огорчает, что имена временных пользователей должны быть только на латинице. Также нет возможности присвоить статус “Временного” ранее зарегистрированным.
