Preload LCP Image on CPT and Blog Categories

I’ve built custom post types with it’s own categories. Each category has it’s own featured image, is there any way I can use your plugin on these category images?

The same would be relevant for blog post categories.

…or is the idea that the “Default to Featured Image” option in settings cover the above?

High LCP & Render Blocking JS

Firstly, I would like to start by saying that this is a great plugin, but unfortunately we have noticed some negative effects on page speed, after setting up this plugin.

We appreciate that this plugin will affect the page loading speed to some degree, but the LCP has increased by 2 seconds, and script.js is being flagged as render blocking, adding a second to the website page loading time.

We also use the Autoptimize plugin, and have tried different configurations in there, to try and improve the page load score.

At the moment, we have had to temporarily disable this plugin, due to the negative effect that it has on LCP, and overall page load time.

Would anyone else that may have faced similar issues, have any suggestions or ideas, on how we could improve the LCP & render blocking JS issue, that we face with this plugin?

This may be off-topic or a noob question, so I apologise in advance, but would really appreciate some help here.

I noticed that 2 days after I installed the plugin, the core web vitals report in GSC started showing issues with LCP in half of my article pages. Then a few days after that, traffic started dropping.

I understand that CWV are not a ‘big’ ranking factor so that might not be causing the drop in traffic, but keen to get some thoughts on this. Thank you!

I am using elementor and flatsome theme for my store and using lightspeed cache. But in google search console I am getting this error which says LCP is Longer Than 2.5 For Mobile. But for desktop its ok. How do I fix it please

Recent LCP & FCP Issues with Web Stores only

All Web Stories on my site have recently started causing LCP/ FCP issues. Upon investigating it looks like the issues are caused by render blocking resources loaded from the CDNs used by the plugin:

cdn.ampproject.org
fonts.googleapis.com

And because Web Stories are AMP pages, WP Rocket doesn’t work to optimize these resources: “WP Rocket will deactivate these incompatible features: Minification, DNS Prefetch, LazyLoad, Optimize CSS delivery (Load CSS Asynchronously and Remove Unused CSS), Load JavaScript deferred, Delay JavaScript Execution, Google Fonts Optimization”

Any idea why the js and css resources loaded from these CDNs have recently started causing delays in load time? Isn’t this supposed to be optimized out of the box? Is this a bug?

The automatic lazy-load of all images by WordPress caused an LCP problem on my pages. The Spectra development team reacted promptly to this and has ensured that lazy-load can be deactivated in the image block for individual images since 17/02/2024. That is service!

Dear Spectra team,

Unfortunately, the LCP cannot be optimised as soon as I use the Spectra image block, because I cannot deactivate lazy-loading for individual images in the image block. The solution described here https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/remove-lazy-load-for-the-first-image/ unfortunately does not work. Neither do the other plugins, because they all refer to the image block in WordPress, which does not provide for height and width.

I have placed the function in a child theme.

I’ve noticed Google PageSpeed Insights having a major sook about Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) when using the slider. Lazy loading the images doesn’t seem to make much of an impact overall.

Any suggestions?
