First steps in wordpress – but blogroll /the widget named links is missing

I am just filling out the permanent pages like Imprint etc and generally trying to find out which theme suits me best. Now that I come to add the widget links, or blogroll I found that it is totally missing in my wordpress version. It is not in the available widgets, it is not activated either, and it is not to be found in the inactive widgets. So where can I get this widget then? I am just in the beginning, may be the switching themes made it disappear. So at this point it may make sense to just start again, but if so, how? I installed the newest wordpress version very easily with the software available on my hoster Allinkl into the domain butterflylotuskitchen.de where I want to have the blog. Can I download this widget somewhere or do I have to delete all wordpress data from my domain and start again? Which may be not working. I tried to install other wordpress versions in some of my unused domains, just to see if it is there, to determine if it has got lost and was there, but I cannot access them, as the new usernames do not seem to work, may be I can have only one blog at a time? So may be the newest wordpress version has no widget called links any more? I doubt that very much, since building links to other pages is necessary for page ranking. Or may be the widget has another name now?

Error with spider calendar and links widget

The problem I have is with the page https://haco.org.uk/events/.

I have Spider Event Calendar (v1.4.16) embedded in this page and up until May 2015 all is fine. However, from June 2015, the links widget disappears behind the calendar.

Please would you explain how I can fix this issue?

Links menu missing from admin panel and no link widget in child site

I’ve just configured a multisite installation from an existing single site installation. Mostly it seems to have gone fine – the existing site still works just as it did and I have set up a new child site that is almost working properly.

But in the child site I have no ‘Links’ section in the admin menu and no Links widget. I am logging in to both sites as the same user – the Superadmin user. I am using the same theme on both sites (a child of twenty twelve) and have also tried switching to stock twenty thirteen on the child site to see if this enables the Links menu, but no joy. I’ve even tried adding code to the theme’s functions.php to add the manage_links cap the author or administrator role.

Plugins enabled on the child site at the moment are Add Meta Tags, Jetpack, TinyMCE Advanced and WP-footnotes

Widget trouble no more Links widget?

Hi, I just updated one site to 3.5.1 and started a new site with the current version.
I have two questions here.
1. Suddenly I’m having trouble with the widgets on the older site. I can’t grab them or move them. I tried adding some text to a text widget and the five widgets above it suddenly disappeared. I had to restore my site via backup to get them back. Is anyone else having these kinds of issues?

2. What happened to the Links widget?? It’s been available to use on every site I’ve worked on, but I don’t see an option for it on my new site (which only has the 3.5.1 version). Is there something comparable I can use?

Links and Blogroll widgets missing

I just installed the latest version of WordPress and the Links section is missing from my dashboard. Also, the links and blogroll widgets are also missing. What can be done to get these to show again so I can get them configured?

Links Widget suddenly stopped working

For some strange reason, my link widget (blogroll) stopped working. It was working fine last night, I slept, woke up today and no links are showing. I removed the links widget, and then placed it back, but its still now there – I even checked the source code – it appears to just not be working (showing up anywhere). Site is https://www.edgey.net

Sometimes when I go to https://www.edgey.net/wp-admin/link-manager.php, I get a 404 (only sometimes though).

Any suggestions?
