I would like to start a www.ads-software.com blog on a Linux server non wordpress site. I have read a few forums regarding Yoast SEO Premium and it appears to be problematic with Linux. New pages not publishing

I set up my own linux server and remotely installed WordPress to it. I can access the site. I can edit the sample post that is listed. I can log in. I can create a page on the back end and I can preview it, but the moment I publish it, it cannot be viewed I get the 404 error.

The requested URL /wordpress/about/ was not found on this server
Apache/2.4.18 (Ubuntu) Server at www.iamlifing.com Port 80

I have read tons of articles and tried several things but no luck. any assistance is appreciated.

Linking to Windows Server File

I use WordPress for our organization’s intranet. WP runs on a Linux Server (16.04 LTS). There are pdf files on a Windows Server (2016) that I need to link to in order for staff to access them. I do not want the pdf’s imported into WP because they need to be added/deleted/edited by many staff members. From the Linux Server I can access the pdf file directory by browser using smb://servername/folder/filename and open the files. The problem: I cannot find a link format in WP that will open these files.

I was using Windows Server and my all website was working on it. Error is coming when we transfer wordpress website in Linux Server.

My all plugin removed. I am not able to install new plugin and themes.

files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/rank/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.

Hi guys,

I’m a start out web designer making websites for clients on WordPress. One of my clients I am creating a website for wants the website to be hosted on his Linux server he has. I’m not too familar to server side lanuage and was wondering if someone could answer a few queries for me.

1. Can a WordPress website be uploaded to a linux server?
2. Is this a complex task? By which does it require knowledge in Linux langauge.
3. Is their any support documents someone could point me towards to undertake this task?

Finally, It was a previous developer who had access to this server and built a previous website hosted on it. What information do I need from him to access this server?

Not blocking country for Backend in Particular Server

Hi There!

Probably I am missing something… I got this plugin working in two webpages of my own for testing using wordpress 4.4 and 4.3.1, worked just fine!

When I installed in my clients sever it did not block… for some reason. I would like to know how is it done internally. Would that be a file permission problem? Does the plugin uses .htaccess?

Any help are welcome!

Cannot upload images from wordpress since moving to Linux

Yesterday GoDaddy moved my wordpress from a windows server to a linux server. Now I cannot upload images from my wordpress software. Yes, it’s set to writable.

I am using 2.6.5 and the url is https://mountainsageblog.com

Anybody know how to fix this?
