I tried using the blog url and the wordpress address url ( https://www.earth01.net/Rambling/WPfiles) followed by /xmlrpc.php .
I have confirmed that that file is in the WPfiles folder.
I can post normally, but have been unable to connect MSWord or LiveWriter.
Suggestions? iPage tried to help, but so far without success!
]]>It does it Job as long as I use the WordPress built-in editor. i.e., images are uploaded to S3 bucket, path renames in the post and local copy is getting is deleted from wp-content/uploads.
However, when I use Windows Live Writer nothing above happens. Images are uploaded to wp-content/uploads only, that’s all. I use Live writer most of the time, writing my articles.
Is there any configurations or tweak to be done, to have this plugin works even when I use Live Writer.
Thanks in advance.

]]>Problem: Windows Live Writer cannot retrieve posts. Neither can ScribeFire. However, Blogilo (under Ubuntu Linux) recovers all the posts fine. My other blogs
www.DannyQuah.com/writings/zh /
www.DannyQuah.com/writings/technical/
present no problem for Windows Live Writer or ScribeFire, both retrieving previous posts successfully.
The Windows Live Writer Error log first shows
WindowsLiveWriter,1.7636,None,00007,21-Jan-2015 16:23:12.222,”DisplayableException occurred: WindowsLive.Writer.Extensibility.BlogClient.BlogClientInvalidServerResponseException: Invalid Server Response – The response to the metaWeblog.getRecentPosts method received from the blog server was invalid:

at WindowsLive.Writer.CoreServices.AsyncOperation.InternalStart()”,””
If I shut down WLW, open it again, and then re-try the same operation, the Error log now shows the text to all my posts, preceded by
WindowsLive.Writer.CoreServices.XmlRpcClientInvalidResponseException: Invalid response document returned from XmlRpc server —> System.Xml.XmlException: ‘ ‘, hexadecimal value 0x07, is an invalid character. Line 56, position 113.
If it’s the invalid character that’s messing up the XmlRpc server, two questions:
First, how does Blogilo recover? Second, is there a systematic way to track down that invalid character (looking in the db seems fraught if I don’t really know what I’m looking at in the db)? [Reference: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/windows-live-writer-unable-to-retrieve-posts]
The Error log doesn’t return this System.Xml.XmlException consistently. As I’ve described, upon first/alternate invocations, instead, it is DisplayableException

]]>The server reported an error with the following web address:

I’m not running an extraordinary amount of plugins (20), and I’m using W3 total cache.
Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I’ve searched the web and can’t seem to find the solution.
]]>The underlying connection was closed :And unexpected error occurred on a receive.
Please try fixing the problem & then try again.
I have no idea where to begin with this problem. Searches in the forum for this sort of problem are almost all 5 years old & don’t apply to my version of WP (3.9.1) or my version of Live Writer (2012). I’m also running Win 7 if it matters. I’ve tried creating a new account in Live Writer & it won’t do it because it also gets that error every time.
In my mind this is an issue with some setting in my cpanel on my hosting site because I didn’t have this issue until they moved my blog to a new server but I can’t figure out what. I can find nothing in my WP admin panel about it.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
]]>I can create a blog entry using Live Writer and post it successfully. I can also connect to my blog and download the current theme and I can download pages from the blog. What I can’t do is download existing posts.
When I try to download posts, I get the following error:
The response to the metaWeblog.getRecentPosts method received from the blog server was invalid:
Invalid response document returned from XmlRpc server
When I look at the Live Writer log file I can see the text of my posts are in the log but there is also an error message. I’ve tried disabling plugins (generally I only use one – “Easy iFrame Loader”) and changing to different themes.
any help is appreciated. here’s my log file (truncated) with the error message and a test post that was retrieved:

Error Connecting to Blog
---------------------------
An error occurred while attempting to connect to your blog:
Invalid Server Response - The response to the blogger.getUsersBlogs method received from the blog server was invalid:
Invalid response document returned from XmlRpc server
FROM WORD
Word cannot register your account. The provider where you are trying to publish is unavailable.
From my research it seems this error used to be fixed by turning on remote publishing in Settings – Writing. But in recent versions of WordPress this has been turned on by default and the setting is gone.
The site is www.dawabi.com. The blog is www.dawabi.com/blog. I’ve tried both addresses when entering in the information for Writer and Word to connect. Both throw the same errors.
Any ideas??
Thanks!!
