Importing Album from Live Site to Local Site

I am hoping to replicate my wppa albums on a local site using Local. I have successfully set up most of my site to my local machine using it.
I am using Version 8.3.01.010 on PHP 73.5

Wppa seems to be installed ok. Here is how the Local website page looks currently, ready for the images:

But I am failing to import my albums from my live site.

I exported one Album from my Live site. This creates a zip file in the live wppa-depot. That seems fine.

Here is the import screen on my Local site:

But the dialogue on this seems not to relate to what I am doing, which is hopully to import 202 images from the “live” album.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

cURL Error 28 On Locally Hosted Site

When trying to use the image compression on a site hosted on my local dev computer, I get the error message:
“cURL error 28: Operation timed out after 10014 milliseconds with 0 bytes received.
There was an error connecting to the image compression server. This could mean either the server is temporarily unavailable or there are connectivity issues with your internet connection. Please try later.”

It works pretty well on a site that is hosted on a publicly accessible machine, but not on my local machine. Is there any way to work around this issue (while still working on my local machine)?

Database update required cannot login

I used Local by Flywheel to create a local version of my site to install a new theme.

I used the plugin “all in one migration,” believe that’s what it’s called, to export a copy of my files from my live site to my local site.

When I imported my site to the local copy, I received a message to update permalinks. I clicked on that link, and another window pops up to update my database. Upon doing this, I am prompted to log in again to my site.

The problem is, I can no longer log in. I tried the “forgot password” feature, and it doesn’t recognize my email address.

Somewhere in this migration, the wp-config or wp-login php files have become corrupt, that’s my guess.

By the way, I can see the local site and interact with it as a visitor, I just can’t log in as an administrator.

Hello. I am very very desperate right now and I do not know what to do. I redesigned a website and I did it on a local server using AMPPS and downloading WordPress on it. I then followed the steps in this link https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-move-wordpress-from-local-server-to-live-site/ to transition from my local site into my live site, and I keep getting an HTTP ERROR 500. I tried everything here https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-internal-server-error-in-wordpress/ and it did not work. I even called Bluehost and they said that it was experiencing a problem with WordPress and nothing else. Any suggestions/needed information?

Duplicator: issue with installer.php and DB

As a test and prior to using Duplicator to upload a local site to one online I wanted to test it by cloning this local site (running under Desktop Server/XAMPP) to another local site location. The working site is site00.dev and the second location is test00.dev. This second site has a minimal WP installation though I’ve also tried it with nothing whatever in the relevant directory J:\webdev\test00.dev and the results are the same. Site00 has been created using the Divi theme.

I’m going round in circles!

Creating the installer.php and the srchive.zip files (approaching 60MB in total) seems to work correctly. I then copy these files to J:\webdev\test00.dev and browse to test00.dev/installer.php and this correctly starts the installer. The Deploy step shows a pass for the requirements.

I created a new MySQL DB named test00_0, added a user test00 with all global privileges, on one occasion with and on another without a password, and connected it to the DB. PHPMYAdmin showed the DB as present, the user as present and the two connected.

If I select Create New Database OR Connect and Remove … and test the connection I get Success on Server Connected, fail on DB found. If I then run deployment with the first option checked it gives me eventually a server code 200 and a claim that it’s unable to create the DB and that the user may not have that ability, this despit having all privileges. I then delete the newly created wpconfig.php and rerun using the second option Connect and remove … this almost immediately gives me a server code 200 and says that the DB does not exist – this despite its clearly showing up in PHPMyAdmin.

I guess I might be missing something very obvious but I have no idea what it could be and so any advice or help would be much appreciated.

When I get to the step to go to my local folder in my browser after I type it in I get the window that says This page cannot be displayed. Everything is correct as far as I know.
