Time-out after 2FA-Setup

Hallo!
I just started using the “Solid Security”-Plugin and encountered a problem with my site…
After configuring it, I logged out and wanted to setup 2FA for my user, but when trying either an app or email it registeres it, I get a code and as soon as I put this into my site for the loggin my IP is getting temporarily blocked and I get an error for timeout.

I was stilled logged in with another device on another IP I looked into the dashboard for any blockes, but there were none – even in the database itself I could find any entries within the related tables.

After some time the timeout from my site resolves, but I have to deactivate the plugin via FTP, so I can surpass the MFA-setup…

Has anyone else had similar problems and could resolve them or has any idea what could trigger this phenomenon?

Wordfence Lockout Email Issues

So i have been using wordfence for a while now. It usually works just fine, except for these two issues that i have. Once a user is locked out, the lockout message from wordfence is displayed (in my case, for 4 hours). There is also a send unlock email option. This is where i have an issue.

Whenever i type in any email address, the unlock email never arrives. I get all other mails coming out of wordfence, just these unlock email never arrives. I checked my SMTP plugin email logs and it turns out these emails are not even being generated.
Second issue that I have with this is the text field where one is supposed to type in the email address, access all kinds of text strings, not just the normal email string. Forexample, if i enter “acb@gmailcom” or “abcgmail.com” or “abc@@gmail@com” or “12345678”, it still says that the unlock email has been sent. This was redflagged by my company’s penetration testing team.

Any help wordfence??

I see mention in past support posts in this forum that there was at one time a setting for the minimum time that an IP address would be locked out after a brute force login attack.

Is this setting still available? I cannot seem to find it anywhere in he AIOS settings. My site is running version 5.2.9.

Ive tried to do what I can to modify settings to be more lenient, but everytime I try to access my own site from my phone or from public wifi I’m IP locked out by ZeroSpam. I’m disabled all the IP APIs, and I’m looking at the main settings page not sure how to proceed.

2FA has locked me out

Today for the first time since installing Defender all my login attempts failed and it has locked me out. I’ve had to disable it via FTP in order to gain access to my installation. Has anything changed recently in defender since it seems to have broken some installations.

Update 1: just checked php errors – got error:

Update 2: Found the culprit line 547 and there is a double dollar delimiter on var $$skip_priority_lockout_checks – so i removed the extra ‘$’ but it hasn’t fixed the log-in issue.

Plugin locks me out

Hi my champion friends

I have installed wordpress in the apache ingrastructure.

It is a AWS server, at EC2.

I have installed the wordpress via several different tutorials online each. And it seems i get the same results, as the method of insstall isnt causing hte error.

Originally i could open phpmyadmin, but after hte wordpress inbstall, i cant open it at integritytoysales.net/phpmyadmin, or the IP/phpmyadmin either.

I need to access php my admin, as im trying to update my wordpress user password. For some reason the last four independant wordpress intalls seem to lock me out of wp-admin, somehow the password isnt recognised.

It seems the home page is insecure, and the form on wp-admin is insecure too, through SSL. I have made the AWS SSL certificate, anyway for this problem i am consulting with AWS staff now.

Hoping you can help with accessing phpmyadmin so i can update my password…

Hi,
I carefully read the explanations of the settings in the plugin but I didn’t understand exactly the way the lockout time and retries reset works.
My settings :
3 allowed retries
20 minutes lockout
2 lockouts increase lockout time to 24 hours
48 hours until retries are reset.
Do these settings make sense ?
What happens after the 24 hours of lockout ?
Are access allowed for 3 or 6 new retries ? or are they still blocked until the 48 hours expire ?
