Since I migrated my sites to a new infrastructure (new servers all behind a NGINX proxy on separate servers) I’ve been having problems with the Rest API and cron.
The first site is characters.neodraco.fr. (Beware, this site can be NSFW)
In fact, I get these errors in the health status of the site:
- The REST API encountered an unexpected result
REST API endpoint: https://characters.neodraco.fr/wp-json/wp/v2/types/post?context=edit
REST API response: (403) Forbidden - Your site could not complete a loopback request
The loopback request returned an unexpected http status code, 403, it was not possible to determine if this will prevent features from working as expected. - Unable to detect the presence of page cache
Unable to detect page cache due to possible loopback request problem. Please verify that the loopback request test is passing. Error: Forbidden (Code: http_403)
Also, on another wordpress site (noaledet.fr) which is hosted on the same server under the same conditions, I get this kind of error with wp-cron.php: Unexpected HTTP response code: 404 (provided by the WP Crontrol plugin)

So how to fix this issue?
]]>In .htaccess i send everything “not from Switzerland” to hell; while “hell” is simply localhost. So, if your IP is not from Switzerland you don’t get any answer, nothing at all (“silence”).
Now, the loopback test is showing up every minute in the website’s own health-check, and failing (because of redirection in .htaccess).
I am missing a switch (somewhere in the settings) to stop this test showing up for nothing. Abortion is useless, because cron starts the test every minute, it’s endless.

Une session PHP a été créée par un appel de fonction session_start(). Cela interfère avec l’API REST et les requêtes de boucle (loopback). La session devrait être fermée par session_write_close() avant d’effectuer toute requête HTTP.
Après avoir désactivé les différents pluggins pour voir lequel est concerné, il s’avère que c’est celui de Colissimo.
Je ne vois pas bien ce que je dois faire pour régler cette erreur.

]]>If I untick “Enable caching” in WP Super Cache and try again the loopback test is successful and I am able to successfully edit PHP files. Therefore it obviously seems to be something related to WP Super Cache or the .htaccess rules created. I have setup WP Super Cache to “Enable caching for all visitors”.
This is a known issue, or do you have any solutions? I can’t see anyway to bypass caching for localhost requests which may be the solution, are you able to please help me write a RewriteCond for htaccess if so? I tried the following inside each of the 4 rewrite blocks but that didn’t seem to work:
