I switched over to https yesterday, and immediately all my FB comments (about 4 years’ worth) at [ redundant link removed ] (posts only, not pages) vanished. I had been using another FB plugin, so I switched to yours because it had the ‘recover lost comments’ feature. However, the feature has not recovered my lost comments.
I have, of course, clear my site’s cache as well as my browser’s cache (many times), but nothing ever changes.
I put a comment on my most recently published article just to make sure my FB comments were working at all, and it showed up fine, as did replies to it /2020/01/trentino-valley-parishes-guide/ but there were a bunch of other comments on that page before I made the switch, which have now vanished along with the many dozens of others on my older posts back to 2016.
I tried inserting code that I’ve seen here and elsewhere, but it ‘broke’ my site, so I removed it.
I wrote to your support email address but have received no reply.
And my hosting company, of course, know less than I do when it comes to this issue.
Can you please help? It is really quite upsetting to lose 4+ years of conversation just by increasing security on the site.
Thanks.
]]>I’ve exported & imported my blog content from my old free wp.com blog to my new wp.org one using the .xml file.
Everything was successful, except for the comments. All comments are showing in the backend, but it’s only showing on my website under newer posts. Bit weird cause I only have about 6 posts. Any help appreciated, thanks!
The blog I need help with is awaywithjane.com.
]]>I clicked Reply to various comments and then Reply again to post the comment. I didn’t get any error. and I was connected to the Internet.
And … they’re all gone. I can’t understand it. Any way to get them back? It was about an hours’ work
]]>Not sure if you know, but your comment form has a major flaw. What happens is that when a person visits and writes a comments, then decides to log into one of their social accounts before posting it, the page refreshes and erases their comment making them have to write it all over again. I’m sure you can just imagine how that feels and how that can really piss off visitors. Please check into a fix for this ASAP, thanks.
]]>I updated my WordPress.com Popular Posts plug-in last night and lost a lot of stats, as if it went back a year. No clue why that happened. Then I upgraded WordPress today to version 3.4.2 and 14 months of posts and comments disappeared from my dashboard. Somehow I feel that these two events are related.
Now the odd thing is, those posts and comments are still visible on my blog. I just can’t seem to access them through the dashboard.
Can anyone tell me what went wrong and how I can fix this glitch short of having my hosting provider use a back-up from a day or two ago to revert to my pre-3.4.2 site?
Thank you for your help!

]]>I have been messing about with my site, changing themes and posting content an d somewhere in that process something has gone wrong. I have a bunch of comments that I can see under “comments”, so they’re not lost. But when I click on the comments link on my blog page (the home page), nothing happens. What do I do to troubleshoot this and sort it all out?
]]>I have lost all the comments from my WordPress blog and wish to restore it from backup I created using Online Backup for WordPress. I have an encrypted zip backup which was e-mailed to me.
I read your instructions:
“If the backup file was sent to your email inbox, you will need to login to any WordPress blog with the plugin installed (such as your new installation after a disaster) and use the “Decrypt a Backup” option to upload and decrypt your backup file using your encryption keys.”
I tried to decrypt the file from another of my blogs with the plug in but it failed. I would really like to to remove all the files from the blog I am trying to restore and restart it from the back up. Is this possible, and if so, how do I decrypt with the plugin removed?
]]>Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to get my multisite up and running, without all the spam coming back? I haven’t done any changing of permalinks or any other change that I can think of that would result in all this spam. Not to mention all the good comments no longer reach my box either. I would appreciate any and all the help this community could give me!
Thanks, in advance, for your kind attention and forth-coming response, [sig removed]
