Yes, something like WP Fusion could do it but I’m still early stage so wasn’t looking to add another subscription to my expenses. I came across Bit Integrations and decided to give it a try because it was a low cost entry point.
I didn’t need all the bells and whistles so I was okay with testing this relatively new integration plugin.
At the time, the user interface felt more like a beta design but the fact is that I was okay with the simple and straightforward approach of the tool. It was a “get the job done” quickly rather than be impressed with fancy visuals and effects.
I looked at the available integrations before buying so I wasn’t surprised.
It got the job done and it gave me much more than I expected for a low cost. Before trying Bit Integrations I was going to use Zapier until I realized I had to pay for the WordPress plugin and also the pro plan just to connect WooCommerce to it.
If you are looking for a simple way to connect your WordPress site to other platforms and automate some of the common internal WordPress activities, this tool is worth checking out.
It won’t be a fit for everyone and it’s not supposed to be a competitor to tools like Zapier or WP Fusion. It’s not intended to wow you either. It’s a practical plugin to get your stuff done at a fraction of the cost of other plugins.
The biggest caveat is that, while there’s a free version, many of the common app connections are only available in the paid plan. That said, their pricing is economical and I consider it good value for the money.
]]>I nabbed the premium version of this plugin, and I was done in 5 minutes without having to do anything but click through the steps. I can’t speak to the long-term viability, but the installation and setup took less than 5 minutes and instantly saved me hours & $50 bucks.
]]>I have tried most of the caching plugins available one by one and I found none as effective in terms of an actual improvement in page speed as Fastest Cache. It is also certainly the easiest and most straightforward to use (Some of the plugins have an outrageous number of pages of settings and warnings and instructions. Who has the time and patience to agonize through that to get a plugin to do a half decent job?).
With once off pricing (as opposed to a subscription) I think it might be the most cost effective too for the premium version (which I highly recommend).
Even with the free version I saw a significant increase in the speed of our site.
However, currently we have the premium version and at last I can rest easy knowing that our Pagespeed and Yslow ratings are both in the green zone (both up to above 80 from about 70 and below). And we went from sometimes nearing 10 seconds for a complete load to just over 3 seconds. Sure, we did some other minor optimizations to but it is mostly thanks to this plugin.
The reason I struggled with speed optimization is that I manage a site that requires certain complexities like external widgets (which can be disastrous for page speed) but this plugin takes it all in its stride. For example, the premium version has built in widget caching (one of the biggest selling points for us).
My recommendation is to try this plugin first and simply save yourself the pain of wading through the rest.
]]>I know this forum is about free support, which I’m all for, but I’ve tried updating my site before and messed it up.
I need someone I could call, or they can show my on Skype or answer an email. I would rather have someone I could call on the phone, but an email would be good. I can follow instructions.
I cannot afford much but I am looking for someone who is dependable and available. Most web developers on Craigslist are overqualified for what I need and charge too much for my budget.
