is there anyway to alphabetize the side menu in wordpress. The menu options under Dashboard

I’ve tried to find a plugin, but nothing that doesn’t require playing around too much.

need something simple A-Z

Rank Math HTML sitemap can be ordered by Published date, Modified date, Alphabetical, and Post ID.

However, the most important is missing: order by Menu Order.

Most WordPress websites will find a way to re-order their pages, and would like to show pages sorted by Menu Order.

Is this something you could consider to add, or should I look elsewhere?

Or could you give code snippet to do this?

I have a bit of a frustrating issue with a client site, hoping someone could advise best way to fix it.

Website is Woocommerce and has sidebar menu on left side and Main Menu on the TOp menu.

I wanted to ask about the CATEGORIES LIST and sub categories in Woocommerce. We have a BRANDS CATEGORY with at least 40 brands in there which are displayed on the left sidebar menu.

What the frustration is, that when the client adds more sub categories in the BRANDS area, it puts them as the 1st sub category under BRANDS, instead of alphabetical order.

How can we FORCE that it displays it in alphabetical order, rather than every time a new Sub Category in the Brands is added, it adds it to the TOP (first in the Brands list), rather than in a alphabetical list.

I may have a setting incorrect somewhere? Or maybe it is not possible?

OR do I have to MOVE it manually in the backend “CATEGORIES” list where we create the category and sub category?

The issue is if I try to MOVE it in the “CATEGORIES Admin area” and drag it where it should be, I cannot drag it from P1 to p2, if BRANDS goes to 2-3 pages. Then it becomes impossible to MOVE or drag to another page in the Categories section.

Can I somehow have a AUTO alphabetical in BRANDS area to make life easier and less frustrating?

I’m trying to display the Menu Order column in the WooCommerce Products listing. However, when I go to Products Meta I don’t see any field to select that is the Menu Order field. Is this possible?

So normally when an item is added to the website it recieves a unique menu number. What ive noticed recently is every item is being uploaded and assigned menu number 0. This essentially means that the ordering is now alphebetical on my website. I much prefered it when each new item was assigned a new number as before it meant that my new items were always shown first on the menu (each new item was 1, which bumped 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and so on) but now it shows just alphabetically ( i.e if every item is 0 then it orders by alphabet). I realise you can sort by time uploaded but i dont want to have to tell a customer to order it themselves. And more to the point it worked better for my system of organisation because if i wanted to move things around I could make certain items lower numbers than others etc… but if theyre all 0 then i cant order them this way?

It was all so seamless before but what has happened? what have i done wrong and what can I do? I just want it to go back to when each new item was assigned 1 and it pushed the old 1 to 2, 2 to 3… dont want them all to be 0.

When importing products, I would like to skip updating values in Menu order field of the products.
I would like to leave those manually entered values, now it’s overwriting with 0.
Can you help me with that?
