I’m editing the main menu for my site, which is not yet published. On this menu are three links: Home, Our Work, and About Us. Both the Our Work and About Us will have submenus. What I’m trying to do is that if someone clicks on the link Our Work, it will go to the first page in the submenu. How do I do this? Custom link? And enter the permalink?

If menu not showing in Menu Structure

Im hoping that someone might be able to help.
If Menu is not displaying in the Menu Structure,under the Navigation Label box.
Its not in conflict with another plugin but with the Theme4Press Evolve Plus theme.
I havent put a link to the menu page as admin login would be required.

Any help would be appreciated

Problem with a BLOG (useless elements)

Hello:-)
I’ve got a big problem and don’t know how to solve it.

I have a website with a blog (fresh one without posts yet). On the BLOG page (at the buttom – but not a footer) there are information as: Main navigation (Menu Structure), Pages (with whole list) and Categories. These are things from Appearance –> Menu —> (all 3 things: Pages/categories/menu structure)
Why these elements are showed on the blog page?. And how I can delete them?

I’m migrating from an old wordpress theme Coraline to Twenty Seventeen. I have a few questions:

1: When I change from the old Coraline theme to Twenty Seventeen, will my menu structure stay intact? I have thirteen menu items https://www.baumwollarchives.com. On the Coraline theme they all don’t fit in one row so they stack on top of each other. Will the menu items also stack on top of each other in the Twenty Seventeen Theme.

2: I want my blog not to have a static page but for my home page to be my blog. Can I assign my home menu as my blog?

3: What size in pixels should the header image be so that on a pc it won’t be cropped? I understand that on a mobile device, the image will be cropped to fit the phones format.

Makes managing menus in the backend much easier and this functionality should be standard functionality in WP.

Need Posts and Pages in sitemap

I have just installed simple sitemap. I don’t see how I can display both the pages and posts. If this available at all? If so, do I need Pro to use it? I would also like to display the sitemap in the same format as our menu structure.

Menu again

Hey again,
So I didn’t quite get the answer I was looking for last time so thought I would try again as my last post reformatted when I clicked post so my example below didn’t show up properly. So I wanted two drop down menus that came down side by side under shop, one which said:

Shop by item (as the title and is not clickable)
Earrings
Rings
Necklace

Then right next to shop by item the below:
Shop by collection
Bear
hare
fox
bird

So people can search for type or animal pieces – just nice to have that choice to see and I think looks more professional. Any way to do this on Woo?

removing menu structure from permalinks

I want to get rid of the menu structure in all of my website pages.
I cannot edit menu-part of permalink if I edit the page.

If the page is a sub-item in the menu structure I get sometimes the menu structure in the URL.
SO if I click menu item Hanuman Chalisa > Marathon, it shows in the browser bar as
https://kirtan.nu/hanuman-chalisa/hanuman-chalisa-marathon/
In this case the first hanuman-chalisa comes out of the menu, hanuman-chalisa-marathon is the name of the page.
So I want to get https://kirtan.nu/hanuman-chalisa-marathon/

On other menu subitems the menu structure is not there.
Eg Activiteiten > ecstatic Chant shows as
https://kirtan.nu/ecstatic-chant/
No idea where the difference comes from.

Permalink setting is on Post name.

Any thoughts?

If I make a new page it is ok, I just checked.

I just found out that if I ga to All pages and then quick edit, I can change the parent to no page.
Is that the only way?

It seems that the “error” occured on pages I moved to another main menu item. Could that be the cause?

Where is “Immediately Block” URLs in ver 7?

Being one who has great faith in UI designers, I of course looked under “Blocking” did not see it and spent ten minutes searching. What a junkshow. This is not a UI, this is a UC (user confuser). Anyone know where the “Imediatly Block” URLs list is in ver 7? Thanks for any help. MTN

Disappearing Menu Structure

The website in question was working fine, and under Appearance>Menus, the Menu Structure was also working fine when I stopped editing my web site last night. I left WP running in my Waterfox browser during the night, untouched.

When I came in this morning, before I made any changes, I noticed that my Main Menu was missing. The only change anywhere was in WP itself, and it was as follows:

1) On going to Appearance>Menus, the “Menu Structure” didn’t have any of my chosen menu items below it.

2) I checked Customize>menus in the “Live Editor“, and all the items were still there, ordered exactly as they had been in “Menu Structure“.

3) I noticed that when loading the Appearance>Menu page, that the Menu Structure items DO show up initially, however they vanish immediately, and the “Menu Settings” slides up to replace where the items should be.

4) I thought it could be caused by a plugin I was using, and downloaded a different plugin to replace it, but it made no difference in the Menu Structures, although at that point, my web site’s main menu showed up again.

4) I updated my WP to the latest version, and it made no difference.

5) I deactivated all of my plugins, and it made no difference.

6) I tried creating a brand new menu, in case the menus I was using were at fault, and the same problem occurred with a newly created menu.

ATM, I’m using Ultra as a theme, and have had no issues with it.

One point which could be meaningful – the final menu I created last night was very long. It had over 45 items in it. It is still perfectly set up in Customize>menus in the Live Editor. However, it was the last thing I did before stopping for the night, and it had a lot of items. Adding that point here in case the amount of items I added to the menu could have caused a problem.
