Previously used a plugin by MicroKid which is abandoned and doesn’t work with PHP 8. This plugin allows us to manually choose related posts to be shown page by page. And the author gives great support too.

Is this plugin still supported?

I noticed it hasn’t been updated in over a year. I wonder what happened to MicroKid? Hope he’s still alive!!! LOL

Hello. I’m using the latest version of the plugin and am having trouble with it in admin. When using the meta box in the post editor, I can search for posts to relate but the search queries are not including anything other than standard posts, no pages or custom post types. I have these selected in the plugin settings and can see the tabs for them, but they do not appear in the search results. Any help is much appreciated, I can provide more info as needed.

Plugin is not pulling post information

Hey Microkid,

So I installed the plugin and configured it to show all post types. There are hundreds with several different post types. It doesn’t seem to be pulling any related posts at all. It usually shows a message saying none are available. I’ve tried using the widget, the shortcode and PHP.

Any idea what generally causes this to occur?

This is the latest version of WordPress 3.2.1 with MySQL 5.5.15 and PHP 5.2.17

Also, I’m using More_Types and More_fields for custom fields and post_types.

[Plugin: Microkids Related Posts] AJAX Search Stopped Working

I got the plugin working perfectly on a dev server and even styled the output to include custom fields from the posts that it was pulling via the API call (brilliant plugin btw when it works).

However, I moved the site to the live server and now the AJAX search box does not populate when searching for posts. I have cleared the db options, uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin. Stripped the .htaccess to bare minimum to see if there was a URL redirection issue, but still no luck.

Any thoughts or help?
