I would like to display the 5 most popular posts in a content slider. I am using “Slide Anything” for this and it allows shortcodes to be integrated as slider content.
So my question is:
is there an option to have a shortcode for the overall most popular post on my page, the second most popular post and so on? Instead of having one shortcode to identify and display the top 5 at once.
Do you understand what I want to achieve?
]]>The only complaint, small, is its CSS practices and a few inconsistencies. It uses several CSS properties with “!important” attributes which isn’t exactly an efficient practice — and ignored by frameworks like AMP that emphasise lean code (to clarify, the plugin author offers a good explanation for why he does that in their response below). Thumbnail options in the plugin settings also have no effects on thumbnails in widgets. I dequeued its stylesheet and added styles to a custom stylesheet, and they still apply with !important.
Otherwise, it’s the best plugin for what it does — lean and efficient.

Anyone who knows about a plugin to WooCommerce that can show ten most clicked products?
]]>I know how to exclude categories based on ID’s, but I want to show most popular in each particular parent- and/or subcategory, to help keep relevancy at its highest. Is this possible?
I am outputting the content using the “manual” function you’ve shown, in functions.php and everything works a treat otherwise.

I’m looking to remove a post on the ‘Most Popular’ section of the home page, the information is not relevant to most people now. I don’t want to delete the post as I want it to remain on the website so people can still view it as it may be of benefit to small number of people.
Can I do this without using a plug in?
= The sort order is ‘Popular (all time)’
= Not using a plug in for this feature, it’s part of a theme.
= The theme is called tagDiv Newspaper theme.
Thank you
