Error opening DOCX file

I have created my first “book” and published it in a Microsoft Word format. Everything seems ok until I attempt to open the book. When I do, I get an error message that says Word is unable to open the file. It offers three suggestions

check permissions – they are good
make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space – there is. It is only a small file.
Try using the Text Recovery converter – it does not work either.

Any ideas on how to proceed from here?

I can add jpg files, but not a MS Word document I want to send as attachment with a notification. Is there a limit to the document types that can be attached? Or is another issue preventing me from adding the .docx file?

I have been using docxpresso plugin now for several months and enjoy the simplicity of it working in MS WORD. As very much an amateur builder of our church website I got myself in a tangle. I contacted support, not very hopefully from experience elsewhere, but within a couple of hours they were with me and within 24 hours spent time showing me where I was going wrong. Spaces deleted when copying from Word into Gutenberg

When I copy text from Word into Gutenberg, Gutenberg does a nice job of splitting it into blocks. However, I have to go through it because there are random places where spaces between words have been removed. It is a lot of proofing and editing when it was supposed to be a seamless copy and paste.

Has anyone else had this, and is there a way to avoid it? I’ve tried Word 2013 and Word from Office 365 – they both do it. I’m on a Windows 10 environment.

Duplicate posting using MS Word

Hi-

My client only will post to WP using MS word. He occasionally gets duplicate postings when he does this. Is there a way to stop this? He says this is critical for him. One thing to note is we went from http: to https: , but this shouldn’t be making it do duplicate posts when posting from MS Word. Thanks.

How to Paste Blog Posts Into Word

I’m trying to save my blog posts as hard copy word files so I can have access to them forever, even if WordPress someday somehow ceases to exist; but when I paste the posts into Word, it’s all screwed up- most notably in that the photos display as so huge that they don’t even fit on a page (I have a Word file as an example, but I can’t see how to attach a file here). Is there a way to adjust this without manually reducing the size of every photo in every post? I have hundreds of posts I’m trying to do this with.

How can i do something for authors to upload a MS word document and then automatically publish a post by reading title and content from that document text.

after that convert MS word document to PDF and add download button to the post.

Remote posting?

Although I would not consider this a bug, per se, I would still like to know “why”.

While WPFC was active I tried to post to my WordPress site using MS Word. At first I got a weird error message about not having enough “space” for the image in the post. I removed the image, and then got a generic message that said I could not post to the site.

I deactivated WPFC and tried again, this time with the image. Everything posted fine.

So, what is it in WPFC that would account for this? I reviewed all of the options, and nothing jumped out at me (I basically have all the standard boxes checked).
