sorry, i am newbe at this, i had paid a dev guy to add “Ultimate FAQ” and this is currently added to my website, however i have update the theme.
unfortunately the faq pages are showing an old design and i wanted to update this, but i am not sure how to do that, when in admin of my wordpress site i go to any faq page, it does not have the settings to update the page theme, so i was wondering how i can update the theme for my faq pages.
any help you can provide would be welcome.
Regards,
Rahim
I see this has been quite an issue with Yosemite. I am using the free version of MAMP to work on a website locally on my mac. I just updated my operating system, and this stopped working. I have been researching and trying many things.
First, the problem: wordpress is unable to connect to my localhost. MySQL is working, Apache even says it is on, but when I am in phpAdmin, it says there is a 404 error when I try to clock on the localhost.
Things I have tried:
* Changing the ports
* Made sure I was running the most up to date version of MAMP
* Trying to change the enqueue_ to _enqueue
* i started following this tutorial, but got stuck on step 6 https://forum.mamp.info/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=82253
When I do the DEBUG in the config, this is what I get:
Notice: wp_enqueue_script was called incorrectly. Scripts and styles should not be registered or enqueued until the wp_enqueue_scripts, admin_enqueue_scripts, or login_enqueue_scripts hooks. Anyone have ideas?
Thank you for your time!
]]>First i’d like to state that, i’m absolutely new and noob to the wordpress. I’ve just met with this whole system, while I’m trying to transfer from e107 to WP.
A friend of mine has asked me to take care of his site while he has other businesses. I’ve noticed, that the site is really fallen behind on updates (core, theme, plugins and everything). So I naively clicked, then it said, the automatic update process failed, and can’t update the system.
This would be the first problem. And the second, and even stranger, that a plugin somehow lost from the list, and I can’t reinstall.
Sadly we do not have a FTP connection to the hosting plan, so I can’t update manually, and check if everything is okay on the server. The provider’s (maybe 1and1) website is mostly useless.
I had some experience in messing with websites, but with totally different systems. (Tho I’m still amateur)
If you need any details, please ask, I don’t know what might be important in WP.
Sorry for any grammar errors, english is not my native language.
]]>I am considering buying an off the shelf pro designed template, but have been put off a little after struggling with the free templates in wordpress. i have worked with several html website editors and templates in the past such as adobe with a fair degree of success but have found the wordpress approach very difficult indeed. I don’t have a great deal of expertise in coding but can wing it by using wsyiwyg, cutting and pasting or replacing bits of html code until i get roughly what i want. but as i say I find this near on impossible to do in wordpress.
So I suppose the bottom line is are these paid for wordpress themes easier to customize than the free ones. I don’t want to waste money downloading one only to find out that its no good.
anyone been down this road before?
Many thanks.
]]>I just added several widgets
1. weather
2. bookings calendar
3. like button
I visit my page and thdy appear.
upon returning to the Admin panel those widgets are missing.
I return to the site and there are all gone.
Please help.
]]>I am being asked to keep a WordPress site of “link” to news articles that the boss want everyone to read.
Right now I have to jump these hoops to post an article:
1. Cut and Paste the Title
2. Cut and paste the first Paragraph or XXX characters.
3. Create A “Read Original Article” Line
4. Cut and past in the URL as the link in the line created in item 3.
is there an easier way to do this? (plugin? Shortcut?)
]]>The code is below, is there a way to replace this code with a loop and call of articles from a specific category with a thumbnail (it is currently online at https://charterschoolcorp.org if you want to take a look), or am I better off just manually editing the .php file?
Thanks!
]]>Is this possible? if so how do i do it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
