Creating a brand new News section with Tatsu

I’d like to create a News section (our own company news rather than a live feed) which shows our press releases using a filterable format. I would also like to create a feed on our homepage which displays the most recent three news articles. We use Tatsu and I’m wondering whether there’s a guidance document I can follow to create the section. Can anyone help, please? Thanks so much in advance!

News posts not showing

Hi,

For some reason on the news section of our website the first 10 articles do not initially show when you go to the news page. But if you click the right arrow to go to the next 10 articles these load up and then if you click the left arrow to go back to the first 10 these then show up fine.

Any ideas why the first 10 aren’t showing when I first go onto the page and how to fix this?

I am fairly new to wordpress so be gentle haha.

How can I turn off exceprts in About Section and News Section

Hi,
Can you please advise me how I can disable page excepts showing up in “About” section?
Also, in “Service” section, in the buttons with icons which are shortcuts to Services and Partners pages, I get page excerpts too. Can you please let me know how I can block them, as I don’t need page excerpts there?

Adding a date to news section posts

I’m wondering if theres a way to add a date to the posts in the the homepage News Section.

Would be great to be able to have the post title followed by the date it was created on with a excerpt underneath.

Currently all I have is the standard title followed by the excerpt.

I’m assuming this change can be achieved by editing the section-news.php but I’m not so familiar with it to start changing things willy nilly.

Changing images that appear above post titles in NEWS section

Like the title says, I’m trying to change the images that are pulled as you scroll down in the news section. As it stands, the images that are currently used are default high-res landscape images that came with the theme. I’d like to utilize my own images related to each of my posts. How can I achieve this? TIA.

Revealing and Collapsing News

I am making a custom theme for a client, who wants to have a news section in a left sidebar. He also want to have the following functionality: When you click a Read more link on any news, it should expand down to reveal the whole content. Then you must have the ability to collapse the news with a read less button/link. Please, could anyone tell me how to code that. Thank you in advance!

Differentiating between posts and pages

I’m pretty new to WordPress, but have got an installation integrated with my site to some degree. My problem is this:-

I’ve got a three column layout; the left column lists all the pages, the centre has the content (the pages themselves) and the right column I want news items in (assume I can use posts for this).

Left and centre columns are fine, but depending on how I set things up in admin->Appearance->Reading, the middle and right colums will either display the posts OR the pages.

Can anyone help me with this? i.e. displaying the page content in the middle and the posts on the right?

News section

My news section on the frontpage is organized in two parts.

1. Featured sections (runs by Featured category).
2. The rest of the news

The problem is that the rest of the news shows the same news as in the featured section.
I have been thinking for a solution. I could create a categori for the news section to show all my news in but not the featured news. Or I could set it to only show all news from news 4-15 because 1-3 is in the featured section. I liked the last solution best.

Any ideas and recommandations? And do anyone have the code for this last solution?
