I have a website that is already SSL secured. I want my site stay SSL Secured by default but I want to make some post/pages non-SSL (HTTP://). I want to have a tick mark option to make the page/post as non-SSL.

Can this plugin will give me this option? or can you bring this option in the next update?

I need to make some page/post as non-SSL due to some reason. That’s why I need a permanent and stable solution for this.

Can that plugin that will give me this option? Thanks

Misbehaving after migration – SSL, section background and layout issues

Recently transferred a website from a subfolder to the root domain after redesign and noticed a few problems:

1. Section background images not showing in live mode but shows in edit mode. Just shows a black background in live mode. Also, layout and formatting are missing on some pages when in live mode but looks fine in edit mode as well.

2. SSL secure lock is active on all pages except home page. It still has https but no padlock… What’s odd is that in edit mode, you can see the padlock but in live mode, you can’t.

3. Importing new image to media folder turns out blank.

Tried the replacing URL and regenerate CSS method but doesn’t work.

Also tried disabling all plugins except Elementor but problems still remains.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For about 3 WEEKS now I have had nothing but difficulty setting-up a WordPress site. I have activated and deactivated new blogs and stores at least 12 times now and still I have gotten nowhere. I have gone through the deactivating plugins and using default theme processess already. Every site I’ve tried to set up has different error messages. I get the white screen of death, I get no SSL certificate error messages (even though my host (Yahoo) has one on my site and the URL clearly says https), I get no temporary file found, I get file permissions errors, I get failed to update error messages when trying to write a post (won’t allow me), no access to phpmyadmin, and the list goes on. I have done a lot of research before coming to you. Everything I read to do I did (changes to config file, functions file, adding temp folders, etc.). I’ve made backups then found no way to use it because of the file extension (even though that’s what the recommended plugin company gave me). I am sooo stressed out. My hosting provider says ask you guys, you guys say ask them, wp.org and wp.com point at eachother. Still no help. I’ve deleted and recreated sites and databases a bunch of times. Still nothing. I’ve tried almost every default theme and every store theme. I’m not a stupid person – until WordPress I guess. Like I said I did a lot of reading and researching before I contacted you. I’m not trying to waste your time. I just REALLY want my site up and running. PLEASE and THANK YOU!!!

Image-Src not https with custom size

hi,

today I worked on a customers website, yesterday I installed a letsencrypt-ssl-certificate on that webspace and had to remove an alias from developing, after that all image-urls where broken cause of pointing directly to the old URL.

so today I rebuild the missing logos and after that I noticed that the “green lock”-symbol in firefox was not there any more, instead it shows me “mixed content” error.

after some investigations I noticed, that all image-sources from the image widget where “custom size” was set had only “http” in the src-tag, after changing all back to “full size”, handling the sizes with css and reload in browser the src had https at the beginning and the green lock was back.

maybe this helps you to find a bug?

cannot login to non-SSL subdomain; forced redirects

I have SSL on my primary 1&1 domain and can login fine there. However, when I attempt to login on the non-SSL subdomain staging site, I’m redirected to the primary SSL domain and get an SSL error prompt/page.

All the stage links are redirecting to their primary SSL equivalents. Manually entering a URL in the browser properly lands me on the stage page — with the exception of wp-login.php. That particular URL is force redirected to the SSL primary, despite my best attempts to prevent it.

I pointed the subdomain to the proper directory at the host and edited the stage database, wpconfig and .htaccess to match the subdomain name.
I also edited the primary domain .htaccess to eliminate all redirects there.

I cleared my browser cache(s) on each attempt, so 301’s aren’t causing this.

I managed to get the generic WP login page by commenting out lines 14-24 of wp-login.php. However, I haven’t found where to eliminate the redirect on submit/exit and still have a functional login script. The wp-login.php code seems like it should work when SSL is not available/chosen/forced.

I see in Firefox Web Developer where the login redirects are occurring via load-scrips.php running jQueries. When I change those URL’s to the stage subdomain using Web Developer and resend the page, I no longer get the SSL error page (because it takes me to the correct stage URL), but instead get a “cookies disabled” error prompt. I have cookies enabled, so that isn’t the cause.

If this is happening in jQuery, shouldn’t it still be pulling URL’s from my stage database?

WP trying to show images using https (no SSL site)

Hi,
my site https://photography.news doesnt have a SSL. Therefore all the site content should be served up over http.

However, all thumbnails on the site are not displaying. Inspecting them shows that for some reason the image link for them starts with https.

I cant find anyone where you can set the media settings to http?

If anyone could shed some light on this or offer a solution i’d be really grateful.

Is payment secure even if there's no SSL?

I just ran a test to see how well this plugin worked. It was fine, however, it seemed that the payment was processed on the website. This worries me because there is not SSL on the site. Isn’t the payment info being compromised?
