Greetings

Like many other users, I’ve encountered the same Cookie security error:

The following file was not found. Please make sure the file exists and has write permissions: /home/customer/www/mysite.com/public_html/.user.ini

From what I’ve read in other threads, it sounds like the issue should have been fixed in version 1.18

I’m using v1.18.1
Cookie security is not currently activate.

I’d like to make sure this gets resolved before I install this on my other sites.

Some files are not writable by WordPress

Hello,

I know you may see this question many times, but my case is a little bit different.
I already have a wordpress site on my vps that works fine. But when i create new wordpress installation with my subdomain (pointed by nginx conf), the health check warn me that some files not writable by WordPress (even though i can install plugin and theme).

My current VPS setting:
1. the primary domain and sub domain folder is under var/www/html (separate folder per installation)
2. the owner of both folder is nginx
3. the permission is 0755 for folders and 0644 for files

How can 2 installation under same folder, same owner and same permission have writable issue?

When we try to smush an image we are getting an error saying the file is not writable. We think it’s a permissions issue, but temporary directories are writeable by the server. Can you tell us where the plugin is writing temporary files? Thanks for your help.

Hello,

I know this issue was raised before, I’m still having this error even though my /uploads and /copysafe-pdf are all in 777 permission. I’ve done it using Filezilla and cPanel but to no avail, my account is a Super Admin account so changing file permissions wouldn’t be an issue.

I’m running out of options. My website is on WordPress Version 4.1 and using Genesis framwork.

Cache directories not writable?

I just started seeing messages in my WP admin that indicate the /…/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar/cache/ and /…/wp-content/ai1ec_static/ directories are not writable.

However, both of those directories at chmod 775 (which is already excessive – 755 should be acceptable)
I refuse to (and actually can not, for security protocol settings) set the chmod to 777.

Why is the all-in-one-calendar not accepting the standard chmod for the system like every other plugin?

Every time I try to upload a PDF from the PDF button I get “Error! Upload directory is not writeable!” How do I change this?

Although I have a few PDFs already in my library, they never appear under existing files when I click on the PDF button.

Basically, how can I get this to work?

Pretty permalinks are working but I got message: htaccess is not writeable

Hello,
can you help me with this, please, I am confused:
– I set /%postname%/ structure and IT IS WORKING ok , I put the htaccess file in the place it should be
– so pretty permalinks are working, posts and pages opening but nevertheless I STILL got that message “if your htaccess were file writeable we could do this automatically” at bottom of screen in permalinks under General settings.

How can that be?
Will I have troubles with wordpress (plugins and everything) if I just leave it this way?

htaccess file not writeable in permalinks

“if your htaccess were file writeable we could do this automatically” This is message I get at bottom of screen in permalinks under General settings. I have looked at a number of other forum posts close to my problem and I understand that this is to do with permissions. I have tried all the changing settings from 777 downwards in wp-content with permissions on folders and files but no joy. I cannot get the message to disappear and it is preventing me from launching widgets, new plugins and my visual editor. Has anyone got the solution for this problem? This is very frustrating.
