For reasons no need to discuss, I abandoned my old WP site, moved my domain name to another site and started a new WP site.
I recently discovered I still have access to my old files, how can I move those old files (which ones do I need, everything in WP-Content) or
Can they be incorporated into the new site or should I just use the old files, not much in the new site.
Does the theme etc come with WP-Content ?
Any help is appreciated
Thanks
Whit
]]>I backed up the old wp-content folder
I installed a new clean version of WordPress (5.7?)
I copied the old wp-content folder into the new WordPress directory.
How can I have the new version use the old database for the content and the old theme etc?
Thanks

]]>now i tried Gutenberg Blocks and i like it
But some blocks didn’t work such as : youtube and reusable blocks
youtube : show the url not show the video so i used youtube code
Reusable blocks : show nothing
1 – I disabled all plugins and the same problem then active it again
2 – tried another theme and Gutenberg Blocks worded fine
so i’m sure these is an update code that i have to use in my old theme to support Gutenberg Blocks
any help
]]>Here are some other facts about the issue and my unsuccessful efforts to resolve it:
– I use WP Fastest Cache in conjunction with Automptimize to increase speed. Settings for WP Fasest Cache – Preload (home, posts, categories, pages), clear new post, clear update post, Gzip enabled, browser caching enabled
– Webhost is Bluehost. Endurance cache for Bluehost is disabled. It has never been enabled.
– Do not use a CDN. Began process of signing up with Cloudfare last week, but never completed set up and decided not to use it at this time.
– On June 13, 1 day after the last cache file was created, I updated from PHP 7.0 to 7.3
– After updating PHP, I switched from the free Bunny Press Lite theme to the paid Bunny Press theme
– I did not disable WP Fastest Cache or Automptimize during switch
– New theme has a “Output browser cache setting to .htaccess?” option, but I have it disabled. I have enabled load JS async from the theme, if that makes any difference.
– I recognized the issue yesterday (June 16), did not notice before because it does not seem to affect logged-in users
– Refreshed permalinks with cache off
– Deleting cache in WP Fastest Cache and Autoptimize did not resolve the issue.
– Uninstalling WP Fastest Cache did not resolve the issue
– Reinstalling WP Fastest Cache and going into My PHP Admin to delete folder with cached files did not resolve the issue
– I tried installing and using “Clear Cache for Me” plugin, but that did not resolve the issue.
That is the issue as I understand it and all the steps I have taken to try to resolve it. I am out of ideas, so I would be grateful for any help pointing me to the issue, whether it is with WP Fastest Cache or something else. Ready to answer any questions if more information is needed.
Full disclosure for any responses: I am not very technical and have no background with coding or programming.
Thank you in advance for looking at my problem.
]]>Oddly even though the old theme is totally uninstalled it still shows it trying to call the old style sheet. Is there a way to get it to switch to a new template/ the new theme? It seems odd it would try and call one that is totally uninstalled. How do we make it recognize a new theme so we can see about making a new template if needed?
]]>I setup a website about 5 years ago using WordPress. Not familiar with web desining, a colleague of mine helped me developed a custom theme. When I upgraded the WP to a higher version, my website just went plain blank with the theme color (black and red) after which nothing can be seen. So I had to revert to a normal theme to view the links and contents. Can somebody help me what I need to do to fix the theme issue. I still want to use the same theme cause it was custom made for my website.
]]>I can confirm that the Captcha image and button are missing from my comments section. Following the FAQ, I found that my comments.php did not have a <?php comment_form(); ?>. I added that that and got two comment forms, one unformatted but with Captcha, one with my nice custom arrangement but no Captcha.
I know my theme is ancient but is there a way I can get Captcha working again with the old, custom comment form? Somehow a hook that was active before to inject the Captcha is no longer hooking… Sample:

]]>I’m very new to WordPress and have had a little trouble with my theme. I recently bought a new theme and managed to (eventually) upload it to my site, but some of the elements of the old theme have pulled through to the new theme. Apart from the header font, I would like everything to be in the style of the new theme.
Some of the font on a few of my posts is the old theme’s font (I have played around with this so many times and can’t find a way to fix this) and also when you click on a country on menu bar, the posts that appear on that new page are in the old theme’s font and also have an ugly green ‘read more’ button underneath.
I have tried and tried to fix this but I have no clue! Please someone help me!! This is my site:
