As far as I know the installation went without a hitch, as my webhost offers one-click install, but typing in my domain /wp-admin takes me to an error page.
Is there another way to access the backend login?
domain is urbanamaranth.com
]]>I can’t understand it. The data is in the database and even when I view the pages in the visual or text editor, then the content IS there.
I can’t understand what could be causing this. I thought perhaps a corrupted database but I tried deleting it, re-exporting and re-importing from scratch and I got the same result.
Only the regular page content is missing, everything else appears as normal and seems to work. The site has a custom theme and there is a lot of page content that comes from custom fields on the pages and all that content even shows, it’s just the regular content that’s missing.
Is there anyway to troubleshoot or fix this?
]]>Since last year, the one click install does not work, they say that I have to manually create and database and then link it to the WP one click install, one work, the second WP site didn’t work and then they told me to manually install the WP and also the database but now the Database admin shows only a black page of a error page. Support takes days if not weeks to reply. Are they going out business? Should I be concerned and move my sites to another hosting? I always had great experience but for that last few months is not the same, any feedback please? Thank you
]]>is it possible to make the import of Types not by using its Import/Export, but with the Radium one click demo install – https://github.com/FrankM1/radium-one-click-demo-install. If yes, what code would need to be added to it.
Or if there is a functions that could be called to make such an import in the backend.. such as import_my_types(zipfile) and the import would be made in the backend?
Best regards,

]]>I’ve used WordPress for many years, but haven’t done much extensive under the hood. I’m not experienced in SQL or dev environments, so go easy on me please.
I’ve run into an issue taking a site currently live on a Media Temple account, and creating a duplicate site I want to run locally for dev purposes. I installed MAMP on my OSX machine, and successfully set up a clean install of WP 4.0, which works fine. I want to export the DB from the live site, so I can import it to the local site.
Here’s my problem: the live site was created using Media Temple’s one-click WP install service. Somehow this made two databases – one called ‘db127350_wp’ and one called ‘db127350_main’. The WP config file is linked to ‘db127350_wp’. I would expect to see only one DB ordinarily – not sure how I ended up with two!
If I export either one from PhpMyAdmin, the process seems to run fine, and the file downloads ok. BUT – if I import either DB from the PhpMyAdmin running locally within MAMP, I get fatal errors.
Where should I start troubleshooting? Is this a typical issue with one-click WP installs?
thanks very much,
James
I’m getting this error, and I have no idea what to do about it:
“Strict Standards: Only variables should be assigned by reference in /webspace/12/78156/ushmidosaja.com/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-language/inc/auto-download-locales.php on line 29”
It appears that I’m getting an error of some sort with EVERY plugin I install… I have never encountered this before! Is it version 3.7.1 that is causing trouble, or the German Domain Server’s install or ???
It’s quite frustrating and I don’t know how to develop the site with so many errors.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Cheers,
Ana

]]>After a little research I discovered the following message in my godaddy control panel: Server Error: A general server error has occurred. The date on the message is the date I upgraded to 3.6.1. It seems this may have been caused by some changes I’ve made to my htacess file.
I would like to move away from relying on godaddy one click install and do manual upgrades. Can I simply just click the upgrade button from my wp dashboard? Or should I uninstall parts or all of my current wordpress install and start over from scratch?
Of course I know to deactivate plugins and activate the default theme prior to upgrading etc…
Also, I have a cronjob that does daily full site backups.
Thanks.
]]>How do I start over with WP?
]]>I’ve had a WordPress blog (racheldonnelly.wordpress.com) for a while now and I’ve decided I want to transfer it to a .com domain name.
While I have some experience of MySQL, PHP and HTML it’s probably not enough for me to be able to set up my own databases and all that. I really don’t know. So, I’m looking at web hosting providers that offer one click installs.
Firstly, I am NOT looking for recommendations, just a list of web hosting companies that people are aware of such as Register365.com that do provide this service. Since I live in Ireland should I go for a web hosting company here or a recommended one in the US?
Secondly, can someone explain what exactly happens with the one click installing? Do I still need to make a database etc or does it do all that for me? How do I back up my blog?
I know it sounds like I haven’t a clue but please don’t reply and say “you’re better off staying on WordPress”. I’ve made up my mind that I want my own website and I’m willing and prepared to learn if I have to. I’m just trying to avoid complications by doing this as easily as possible.
Thanks
