I’ve created a website with a Woocommerce webshop. Currently the only payment method is PayPal Standard.
Here’s the issue:
After going through the checkout process and ending up on the the PayPal payments page, if you then click the browser back arrow from the PayPal payments page, an order is created in Woocommerce with status “Payment Pending”. The order status eventually changes to “Processing” with notation “Paid via PayPal”. This happens without doing anything on the PayPal page, i.e., no logging into a PayPal account and no payment being made from PayPal.
This process includes an order confirmation email being sent to the customer.

]]>After WooCommerce updated to 4.7.0 the shopper sees an error while checking out “Error processing checkout. Please try again.” and the order shows up in WC as “Pending Payment”
I earlier had the plugin “WC Direct Place Order Without Payment” installed when I saw the error. I switched to this plugin since the other one seems to have been abandoned. I see the same error with both plugins.
