I am adding pages and they are only visible to me as drafts. Once I publish them I get the hosting service’s error message “The page you requested is NOT AVAILABLE A general error has occurred ” screen. How? Why?
Do I have to manually confirm these pages need to be visible anywhere BESIDES where I edit them? I don’t remember having to do that before.
Is this a WordPress Issue? Hosting? According to google apparently no one else on this planet has ever experienced this problem.
Thanks
Jennifer
]]>Ability to modify page visibility changed when plug-in Jetpack was activated. De-activating the plug-in has not restored ability to modify page visibility.
Adding the plug-in Page Restrict did not restore visibility control, nor did de-activing that plug-in
Other installed Plug-ins not thought to affect page visibility are Members and Minor Improvements. Minor Improvements are not activated. Members was activated, hoping for a fix, then de-activated when I learned that page-level access is not provided by that plug-in.

Page visibility for the blog page, which is titled ‘Members Forum’, is set to password for the purpose of this topic. Password = password
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

]]>I recently setup a password protected page and as I understand from the docs, Admins and Editors should be able to see and change the password, however this isn’t working for me. Only Admins can do this. I’ve tested it on 3 installations.
The docs say:
WARNING: If your site has multiple editors or administrators, they will be able to see your protected and private posts in the Edit screen. They do not need the password to be able to see your protected posts. They can see the private posts in the Edit posts/Pages list, and are able to modify them, or even make them public. Consider these consequences before making such posts in such a multiple-user environment.
Can anybody shed any light on this?
Thanks,
Chris
I’ve been unable to replicate the error so its hard to discover what is happening.
One user said they had the issue on PC/IE but tried on PC/Chrome and it worked.
Any ideas whats going on here?
]]>I have a website with some of the pages ‘password protected’ using the built in WordPress solution in page visibility. These pages now require a password to see them which is great – exactly what i need.
But im finding that other user’s who have this password are having to log in, then they get the ‘are you human’ digit box which they enter the correct details. but then, and this is the issue – the site gets stuck in a loop and ends up not finding the original page we are trying to log in to.
Has anyone else had this issue? Ideally i want to give out the password to a select number of friends to have access you specific pages on my website. All other pages will be public.
]]>(Note that these are pages that have NO items for sale and no Cart66 features on them.)
With Cart66 activated, the pages display properly and WP’s password feature works properly.
With Cart66 deactivated or deleted, the initial password login page generated by WP displays properly, but the page will not accept the correct password and the protected page never displays at all…just get a blank white screen.
Why would deactivating or deleting Cart66 destroy WP’s built-in page password function, and how do I fix this? Thanks for any suggestions!
