I have a filter with two categories:
Libri
Traduzioni
But Traduzioni also has children categories.
Is there a way to show a drop-down filter when I click on “traduzioni”?
I don’t get why I see parents and children categories but I can’t display them. Am I missing something obious?
Thanks
]]>Hello all.
I am having a great deal of trouble with 2024 WP with regards to navigation menus and categories. I was able to do this in the past but I can’t with the new block editor system. This is probably due more to my lack of understanding about the nuts and bolts of WP than the new system.
I am trying to achieve a nav bar that looks like this (items below top line are sub and subsub categories of ‘Posts’ that I would like to appear as a drop down menu):
Home?Posts?Etc Etc
Explore Posts by Country Explore Posts by Category
Egypt Outdoors
Turkey Food
etc etc
To create the ‘Posts’ link in the navigation menu I went to settings/reading/you home page display/posts page/posts. What I am unable to do is proceed beyond this point, and work out how to create the ‘Explore Posts by Country’ and Explore Posts by Category’ submenus. I have created them as categories, but they are ‘just names’ at this point. I don’t know how to link them to the navigation menu. I have created all the subsub categories (names of countries, names of categories) underneath the Parent Categories ‘Explore…Country’ and ‘Explore…Category’ and assigned my posts to them.
If anyone could please help I would be very grateful.
Thanks in anticipation, Jim

]]>Ideally:
The parent categories should have + beside them, not a checkbox;
The (child) subcategories, when checked should have AND logic with other categories and filters.
I’ve managed to find a way to make it LOOK the way I’d like it to look but it doesn’t work properly. I can’t scroll down past a certain point with the filters on the left and can’t choose multiple subcategories from different parent categories and successfully display them. Here’s the test page: https://festivalfurniture.com/office-furniture-test-toggles/
See this demo: https://www.loom.com/share/043b5d29e9634b6db52826aa343aa08e
Categories:
Food -> Chocolate, Cake, Peanuts
Fruit -> Apples, Bananas, Grapes
Vegetables -> Asparagus, Beans, Cauliflower
For as I can see the main and sub-categories aren’t separated in the code, so I can’t solve this puzzle with CSS.
]]>My site is a travel blog, so I want to have it display the posts under the parent categories. For instance: Have a main parent category like Canada, then under have the provinces Alberta, B.C. etc
Canada
.. Alberta
…. * Guide to Calgary
…. * Guide to Edmonton
.. B.C.
…. * Guide to Vancouver
But it is doing this instead
Canada
… * Guide to Calgary
… * Guide to Edmonton
… * Guide to Vancouver
Alberta
… * Guide to Calgary
… * Guide to Edmonton
B.C.
… * <Guide to Vancouver
Is this something only “pro” can do?
Is it just not possible using blocks?
Can I use short code to do it? If so how?
I am a beginner, so explain things thoroughly,and don’t assume I know abbreviations or acronyms. I did try and search for my problem, and I couldn’t find what I was looking for. Thank you kindly
I use WPR Menu for my mobile menu only. So far I’ve been relatively pleased with how easy setup/implementation was, but I’ve now encountered an issue that I am not sure how to resolve.
I have several parent categories in the menu and when you click on the dropdown arrow, they release the subcategories as expected. BUT when you click the parent categories themselves, they also just release the subcategories (instead of functioning like a link and directing the user to the parent category archive page).
It does not appear that there is a straightforward fix for this working within the plugin. Please help!
]]>Categories:
Pails
-M&M
-API
-etc.
Currently is more displaying as:
Categories:
Pails
Jars
Cans
etc.
Sub Categories:
M&M
API
etc.
Hopefully you guys out there can help me figure this out. Thank you all for your time!
