I have an issue with the Page Attributes Parent input field when using the Search Exclude plugin.

I have two pages, a parent and a child page. Both pages are excluded from search results.

My issue occurs when I try to search for the name of the parent page to add it to the child page. The name of the parent page I want to select is displayed briefly as a suggestion but then disappears.

It looks like the pages are somehow excluded from the parent page suggestions.

Hello.

I would like to make a suggestion for the Gutenberg editor because I am having major problems working with it.

I don’t use the Gutenberg plugin, I just use WorPress.

Problem: When I want to select a parent page as a filter, I sometimes find it quite difficult to select the correct page in the dropdwn.

It would be nice if the page hierarchy were displayed in a kind of breadcrumbs list in the dropdown in addition to the page title.

This would make it easier for me to directly select the correct parent page for the queray loop block.
I’m currently clicking through everything that seems to fit.

An alternative would be to display the URL instead of the breadcrumbs list as context.
That would help me too.

translated page doesn’t parent with home page

Hi,

I have developed a career page in English and translated that page in Swedish/Finnish, added to the EN/SE/FI menu. In the individual page attribute setup, English and Finnish pages I have ‘parent’ under the home page, but the Swedish one is not working. Many times I have set the Swedish page as ‘child’ under the parent page. it’s not saving and that’s why the header widgets are not being visible on that page. Can anybody help me out with this?

Post Type Switcher

I have used the Post Type Switcher plugin to convert some child pages to posts then used a 301 rule to redirect them.

These new posts do not appear in the CMS Tree View.

BUT … if I convert child pages and their parent to posts they do appear in the CMS Tree View but maintain the same hierarchy as when they were parent/child pages (even with their new slugs).

I’m not sure if this is possible with this plugin, but instead of sending the user to a 404 page if the exact url is not found, could they be sent to the “closest result” such as for example if they try to go here:

They would instead land here:

https://kmbs.konicaminolta.us/solutions-services/it-management-services/it-solutions

Which is the closest “real” page. That would be preferred to getting a 404 error and of course would be easier than trying to set up redirects for the infinite possibilites.

Hierarchical custom post type cannot have a parent PAGE

Hello,
I’m using the custom post type to store lecturers in my department in the university.
I would like to open the post within the current folder I’m in, for example:
My domain is: law.haifa.ac.il
There is 1 sub-unit (called “criminology”) in my faculty and a group of lecturers.
I’m trying to reach the situation that If I locate a link for the CPT under law.haifa.ac.il/criminology it will be open in the same place, i.e. law law.haifa.ac.il/criminology/[POST].
Now all the posts are opening in the root directory: law.haifa.ac.il/[POST].

Is there any solution to my request?

A page showing up in two different area?

We have this one page that somehow are showing up in two different areas. Originally the page was created without a parent page, but later on moved to under a parent page.

Hi Guys, I’m creating a FAQ for my website and I found this faq https://www.biopak.com/au/faq/account-billing/ very good and I would like to made the same.

From my understanding, it’s a parent page with a table of content and child sections bind with the table of content.

Please let me know if someone has the solution.

Parent page not displaying in the breadcrumbs of a Child page

Hi,
I’m setting up breadcrumbs using Yoast plugin + the Breadcrumbs widget in Elementor editor. I have an ‘About ‘section which has Parent page (About) and child pages. On the child pages in the breadcrumbs, the parent page (About) is not showing. Just Home | Child page. This means the breadcrumbs are essentially pointless.

Can you advise?

I am running this on a staging site using WP staging – not currently public.
I don’t think this should affect the running of yoast breadcrumbs though…

I ended up needing another feature – to display the parent post title (which in my scenario was pointing to a location page), in the layout editor.

I created a little add-on will enable this feature:

It’s basically a clone of the existing “page title with link” feature, except it pulls the direct parent, and it has the option to add a text prefix (in my case I used ‘Location: ‘)
