PDF search not working

I purchased the Pro version because I need to search PDF’s. This doesn’t seem to work so I filled in the contact form. Unfortunately I did not get a reply, so I’m trying my luck here.

We have an archive of our club magazine in the form of (text-searchable) PDF documents. I’m trying to use the Pro version of your plugin to make the archive searchable.
I attached some PDF to a page, created a test shortcode and enabled that for PDF attachments. It does not find any word in the PDF documents.

I would expect it to need some time to index the PDF’s, but I don’t see any notification or other sign of that.

So my questions are:
1. Should it be possible what I’m trying to achieve?
2. If so, how can I make it work?`

Greetings,

We have purchased the PRO plugin. I am testing the search feature, and it used to work, but seems not to work anymore. I would like to be able to type in a first + last name in the search bar and it pull up the PDF with that first and last name.

Help is appreciated.

I would like that on one page only, the search is only in the pdf but on all the others, I would like that the search is done on the whole site (the default behavior of the plugin).

Would this be possible?

Search across multiple PDF documents

Hi – I display indexed PDFs as Flipbooks on my site. Visitors can currently search by keyword across individual Flipbooks but not across all Flipbooks. Can your plugin help with that?

Using SearchWP with Memphis Docs

We have an extensive PDF library managed by Memphis Docs that is not well indexed by the native WordPress search. We love the way Memphis Docs manages our files. We would like to integrate the SearchWP plugin since they index PDF content. The trouble is that all files that SearchWP indexes must be contained in the default WordPress Media Library. Is there a place that I can specify that files uploaded in Memphis Docs be uploaded into the main WP media library? I have spent quite a few hours looking for ways to integrate the two plugins. I would appreciate any help or guidance. Alternately, we are open to another plugin aside from SearchWP that works with Memphis Docs for PDF content search if you have recommendations. Thank you for your help.

Search page for PDF files

For some time I have been trying to find an easy way to greate a page that can be used to find PDF-files.

So to keep this short. I have around 200 PDF-files. Among names of these files user could search and open files that page provides as results.

Any suggestions where to start digging?

Media Library Search for End Users

Hi there. I’ve been looking for a few hours, and have tried a few plugins, but haven’t found it yet.

I have LOTS of PDFs, Word Docs and Excel Files that I’ve uploaded to my media library. I’m looking for a plugin that will search by the title of the document name. This is critical to the success of the site as this is a repository for a boatload of documentation for my client.

Is there anything out there that will allow an end user to put in a search for, say, “End User Manual” and have “End User Manual.pdf” appear in their search results?

Hope you can help guide me as I’m getting frustrated. Thanks!

I’m using the ‘Media from FTP’ plugin to import a large number of PDF files into the Media Library..works great. I need a Media Library Search capability so visitors can locate PDF’s (only) in the Media Library. Any ideas? No luck yet finding something like this in the plugin directory. I want to avoid using a download manager. Thx!

document searching not website searching

I am looking for a plugin that could only search pdfs hosted on the site not for posts or pages. Idealy it would be a single field to search for the name of the document and it would display a list of pdfs, not the pages that mention the document. I am having a hard time finding anything like that.
I had thought to use a table plug in with built in search but the client doesn’t want it and there is not any other information to display besides the name of the document.

PDF categories and searching? Is there a plugin?

i am creating a WP information site for a client. we have hundreds of documents in PDF form. and they are currently in folders on our computer, some already in the root of the site. the idea is to have these categorized and searchable on the web. so far the only plugin i have found is ‘Document Links’, which is very basic. i do have a couple indexing programs i had used for the html version of the site, these will index PDFs.
