Cookie Plugin adds query ?cn-reloaded=1 to URL and doesn’t load page from cache

Hi,

the Plugin always adds ?cn-reloaded=1 to the URL of the respective landing page, where the consent banner appears. Regardless if i activate the option “Enable to reload the page after the notice is accepted.” or not.

That is very bad for SEO!

Also the plugin doesn’t reload the respective page from the cache (in my case Cache Enabler), so it makes the page slower and that’s also not good for speed and ranking.

Please correct this problem as soon as possible!

Hello!

My website is new and it was improving its position in google. Our homepage has always been on the first page especially for the keyphrase used (it’s pretty niche). From two weeks ago my homepage disappeared from google search results for all keyphrases used.

A week and a few days before that we added more text to our homepage for SEO reasons and optimized it with Yoast SEO premium.

We received no manual penalty or notification from google.

We suspect it was because of the new text on the homepage and that we suffered an algorithmic penalty. In that case, I have two questions:

Does changing the homepage affect the ranking of other pages?
Algorithim Penalty for one page/homepage affect the ranking of the other pages?

hidden links/texts in footers. Google penalty?

There are hidden texts (titles of posts) in the “read more” A href sections of categories. To find it, look for class=”screen-reader-text” in the categories of a wordpress website with Neve theme. / So, in the “read more” part at the end of excerpt in blogs and categories, there is this hidden text inside a A HREF /// These Hidden texts in Links and outside of screen are something that Google penalizes! // for those who want to mitigate this problem, Disable excerpt in category and blog pages.

I disagree with the author. By the way, there are additional screen-reader-text hidden texts in the menu on every page. It seems like the text is off screen with small width/heigth. To mitigate this, create a neve child theme and remove the screen-reader-text from the pages.

I wonder if it is really useful to blind people. To me, it overloads the code and on top of this, I think that Google penalizes text that is very small, off screen.

My website was penalized because of yoast settings.
In search appearances > Archives
I have disabled author archives.
This means that every author pages were redirected to the homepage of my website.
Since I had a link to the author page on every page, I had a 301 redirection from the author page to my homepage on every single post.
Google saw this as a way to manipulate the ranking of my homepage. I lost half of my Google organic traffic in one week.
I understood the problem after one week but it was too late. It took 3 weeks to recover.
The author page should have returned a 404 error page. It would have been an ugly solution but it would not have hurt my organic traffic as much as the redirection.

Google quality guidelines review markup – not okay at the moment?

Hi Kamal,

Hope you can help me / us. I received a Google manual penalty and they referred me to check: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/review to check the quality guidelines for ‘review markup’. It seems like the kk star rating plugin is not fully satisfactory. Maybe you can update the plugin with the neccessary guidelines? That would probably help all the users of this cool plugin

Will cause a google penalty

BEWARE of this plugin. It doesn’t support the full Rich Snippet Schema types. In particular, it’s missing the “Review” type. As a result, I as well as others, have been hit with a manual google penalty for spammy markup, because while our review articles should have been labelled as “Review” they’re marked as “Product” with this plugin.

Just google “yasr manual penalty” and you’ll see.

I asked this question to the creator of the plugin months ago but he chose to ignore it.

Don’t use it if you plan to include the rich snippet functionality and rely on google for your traffic.
