I need a little bit of help, I’m struggling with an issue on my website – www.samstjohn.me
I want to have portfolio items be issued a URL like:
https://www.samstjohn.me/yours-clothing
but instead I’m getting
https://www.samstjohn.me/foliocat/yours-clothing/
I’ve gone into the settings and more specifically the permalinks settings and changed them around a few times but i cant seem to get what I’m after, does anyone know why?
Currently im rocking the ‘post name’ option for issuing permalinks, but this is giving me the annoying little ‘foliocat’ piece.
Any advice will be gratefully received

]]>Im trying to make 8 wordpress sites on the my domain which allready have a wordpress site install on www.notmysite.com aka the wp_
The server is a Windows Server 2008 R2 running IIS 7
Well i can easy install all the 8 wordpress sites on www.notmysite.com/homepages/Home1-2-3-4 and so on.
When i install my templates it gets installed correct, but only the “index” page work. If i try to click anywhere it goes to “404 not found” on the the homepage/Index of the www.notmysite.com wordpress installations.
I tryed to search around on the web and i found out it was the Perma-links, but if i just click on Permalinks in the wordpress admin panel it goes to
“500 – Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.”
So how can i get this fixed? Something with the web.config because if i delete that one it automatic works again, but thats only the home/index page.
[ No bumping please. ]
]]>domain/language/parent-category/child-category/article
e.g.:
example.com/en/london/hotels/plaza-hotel/
example.com/es/london/hotel/london-plaza/
It is important for me that the parent-category has the same slug in en and es.
I tried to set the slug manualy in the database. It works fine as long as it is an URL to an article like > example.com/en/london/hotels/plaza-hotel/
but not for > example.com/en/london/
In this case it switched to /es/ (the default language)
Is there a workaround perhaps with pages?
Thanx in andvance.

]]>The link works fine when I use a permalink not including the date … all of our 2014 and earlier posts are showing fine … and when I alter the “Published” time stamp in the post to Dec 31, 2014 … it also shows fine.
Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated. Here’s our site if needed:
https://www.simple-color.com
I tried this … but nothing changes as long as there is a 2015 date in the permalink:

We are running the latest WordPress version if that makes a difference at all.

]]>using the More Types Plugin with permalinks enabled means to get automatic gereated permalinks. To make them editable for each Post add the following to the permalink base in the advanced options of the type: ?typename=
Replace typename with the name of the type and you are able to edit the permalinks.
E.g.:
New Typename is “news” you set the permalink base to ?news=
Hope this helps with the permalink problem a little bit.
@developers: But it would be nice if the standard wordpress tags would work to.

]]>I go to perma links section and went to change my custom perma link because it was always going siteName/blog/postName – there is no blog, so I was like lets change this – because it should always go siteName/postName (or) siteName/category/postName
in the perma link section is:
/blog (<- out side the text box – and then inside ->) /%postname%/
What is this /blog crap and how do get rid of it? it is seriously screwing with my posts and navigation to them.
I just want it to say custom [textbox with: /%postname%/]
instead of custom /blog [textbox with: /%postname%/]
I want to be able to have pages be the page title like:
Calendar: www.mysitename.com/calendar
Pictures: www.mysitename.com/pictures
How do I go about doing this?
