I am a mega WordPress newbie (4 days)…..and I am having problems getting my photos to have links to external sites.

Do I need a plugin?

as you can see, the photos inside the article become thumbnails, when I click any of the photo it’s become larger, but it’s “STILL INSIDE THE WEBSITE”

Plugins for photos – suggestions

I am helping start a volunteer site (of course!) to chronicle the history of show Dachshunds in the US. It is very list-content heavy. We would like to include pictures where we can, as many of the old pictures need to be digitized before they are lost forever. I am also working with a lot of people who are older (our hardest worker bees are in the 60-70 year range) and new to WP–but they are giving it their best shot! I know just enough to be dangerous, so I am hoping to find a clean interface that is fairly easy to work with and easy to teach.

I have literally spent hours and hours trying to find a good plugin for pictures…I’ve alternately had no luck or found myself confused! So, I am turning to y’all for suggestions, as I have a full time job, 9 dogs, small children and a husband. LOL!

Ideally, it would be a plugin that would have a picture pop up (lightbox style?) when you mouse over the name of the dog. Or, a thumbnail version next to the dogs’ names that would pop up similarly.

I’m also envisioning some kind of rotating slideshow of those pictures on the front page. We are not just looking for free plugins….we are willing to look at those with license fees.

While I am asking, if anyone knows of any good pedigree plugin, I would be grateful….or even just a site that has gathered a list of must-have plugins for WP!

Once this is up and running, I am certain we will get donations from other Dachshund people to keep it going and be able to generously support WP and further support those folks who have developed the plugins we use.

The right slideshow plugin

Hi, i’m looking for a slideshow plugin which will embed the slideshows on my website directly into the posts, no flash stuff.

You can view my slideshows at https://www.maccusfoto.nl . From the images on the front page, I created a link to an external PHP script that plays the slideshows.

What I want is that a click on the photograph should start playing the slideshow EMBEDDED in the post, and that I can rearrange the order of the pictures from the wp-admin panel.

I know there are a lot of plugins, but i don’t want to test them all, it would take me weeks to figure out what would be the right one..

I am wanting to find a good photo managemment plugin for my blog..its not a photo/art blog..but will have quite a few images..and I’d like it to be as easy as possible..you know with upload, placment, etc…

Hello everyone,

I finally had post in the hopes that someone could help. I have been searching for a plug in that works with the latest version of WordPress (2.2) that will allow me to put photos or screen shots on my blog.

I have attempted to use two of them and so far out of the two, neither have worked as I’ve been given errors through the installs and not been able to understand how to correct them as the lack of information included.

At any rate, this is not an email regarding what plugins do not have. I am asking for assistance of finding a plugin that can help and provide what I need.

I appreciate anyone who can assist in my search and thank everyone in advance.
