I had Postie up and running beautifully when I shut down for the day yesterday, but overnight, no emails were posted and I log a number of errors:

I was initially getting an “unable to write data to POP3” error yesterday, but that was resolved by choosing the POP3SSL protocol. Unfortunately that didn’t last, and I’m getting the same error with the SSL protocol enabled.

I’ve been working with my host on this today, but so far they can’t see a reason on their end why writing to the POP3 server would fail. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions or guidance. Thanks!

Unable to connect to server, TLS handshaking

Using Postie 1.9.52, am unable to connect to imap server. The debug just says there was a problem connecting to the server. I dug around in dovecot’s server logs for both imap and pop3 (I tried connecting to both), and the error message I get is:

TLS handshaking: SSL_accept() failed: error:14209102:SSL routines:tls_early_post_process_client_hello:unsupported protocol

What googling I have done suggests that my server is requiring a level of TLS higher that what postie is trying to use. My server does require TLSv1.2.

Can you confirm whether that is correct? If it is, is there a way to get postie to come up to this level?

If this is not correct, what would you suggest I try?

Problem getting started

I can’t get even get past adding a mail group. No matter the settings I am returned either a timeout error or a “Test Again” button. I’m on a shared Bluehost server with SSL and have tried every permutation of credentials, and beyond, to connect to the mailserver. I can’t imagine what I’m doing wrong, having followed the instructions from https://www.wpmailinggroup.com/faq/quick-start-in-6-steps/.

What bit of information am I lacking to solve this problem?!

Office 365 emails not downloading

Hello,
I have been using Postie for the last couple of months without any issues. We recently switched our email server from our website host to Microsoft Office 365 servers. I send emails to the email identified within Postie (same one we always have used) and the email shows up in the Office 365 Outlook inbox, but Postie does not download it. When I look at the response in Postie, it tells me it has the correct email and password but it does not see any messages. I have tried using POP3, IMAP, IMAP-SSL and they all have the same response.

Notifications Emails Not Sending Out

My WordPress emails are sending out but WooCommerce is not. I’ve ensured all notification emails are enabled in Dashboard > WooCommerce > Settings > Email > Email Notifications (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wc-settings&tab=email).

The domain registrar (GoDaddy) is different than the hosting account and the MX record points to servers hosted by the registrar. Nonetheless, the password reset email delivers properly and all other WordPress emails. I even used an email plugin called Mail Bank to verify settings and used a separate SMTP server.

I receive emails from Mail Bank and WordPress, just not WooCommerce. All plugins, themes and WordPress itself are all updates to the most recent version.

Can you explain where I can check?

Postie will not work after update

After I updated to Postie to version 1.8.6 it does not work anymore. I get the following error message: Warning! Postie requires cURL 7.30.0 or newer be installed. 7.26.0 is installed.

I’ve talked with my provider, who can not say anything about when the cURL is being updated. I do not even have the option to install cURL 7.30.0, as there is a shared solution. What can I do? Some who know another plugin that can do the same as Postie?

So far, I rolled my site one day left, so it’s Postie version 1.7.32, which is active, and now it work again.

After a while using it on one of my sites I dropped telling the pop3 and imap connections is broken.

I’m new to Wordpres and I saw that to send emailtipo form I need to install or playing pluguin code function.php
The problem is that my setup is pop3 mail so I configure sending email with pop3 (mail.micorreo.com), but I do not see any plugin for it, they’re all for gmail, the SMTP type, etc ..

as I can do to send emails with this mail service ??
