Default and Classic Screen Views – how to change them?

Hello.
I recently migrated my free wordpress.com site to a new .com. On my old site, I used the Default View screen for pages and posts. I’d like to do that with my new site, but only the Classic View is available. (I’ve already checked in the little ‘Screen Options’ tab, and there isn’t a way to choose between the two views.)
Can someone please tell me how to get the Default View on my new site? Does it have to do with my theme? (My theme is Chic Lite.)

JetPack Causing a Post List Display issue

In the Backend of the site, when Jetpack is active in the posts section it is causing the list to be out of sorts and wonky. When I deactivate Jetpack it looks just like it should.
I have uploaded a photo of what it’s doing when Jetpack is active and one of when it’s not active.

Not giving option for user to use Embedly Plugin

Hi,

We are using the embedly plugin, but the embedly icon is not appearing in the edit post area for an editor role.

I have tried to add the user capability to the admin area, but no luck.

Can you assist, please?

Post Screen Screen Layout – column options disappeared

Since the update on my blog, my post screen only allows for a single column posting. There is no screen layout option on the screen options dropdown. Why is this gone? Is it just a bug in my own software or was this a unilateral decision?

I’ve just updated to EDD 1.4.0.3 and the Upload/Insert button on the post screen appears to have been pushed down; now only the EDD arrow is viewable and clickable – the Upload/Insert button cannot be clicked.

I’m working in Safari, if that’s a help, and when I disable the plugin, we’re back to normal.

Is a little CSS gone awry – or is there something else causing an issue? There is another plugin I use – Formidable Pro – that has an icon on the same rung, but I’ve tried with this deactivated and have the same problem with EDD, so I don’t think there’s an issue there.

Any feedback most welcome, as I’m just about to start creating a Paypal shop with the plugin, and want to check all is ok before I go buy the extensions I need.

Smilies on Add New Post/Page screen

I wonder if there is a way/plugin for smilies to show up in Add New Post/Page screen, like somewhere below the editor or beside it so I can just easily insert a smiley if I want to.

I don’t like in the visual editor, the smileys are in a pop up. And actually I rarely use the visual editor, I’m always on the html tab.

I used to do it using the highslide4wp plugin but I think that plugin is not available anymore. (Tho I still have a backup of it but it won’t even show up in the plugin list.)

If someone can help me or point me, it will be great!

Post screen search option

In the post screen, how do you search for a whole word? Exmaple, if I seach for GE I only want to see posts with GE, right now it find ge anywhere in any word.

Post Screen Messed Up

Just upgraded to 3.1, never had a problem like this before. I’ve tried deactivating my plugins and all that, no luck. Tried reinstalling my wordpress, no luck.

The post screen is all off-kilter, with columns scrunched up and titles offset with whitespace between them. (Photo here)

It only appears on the post screen, not the page screen or any others.

Oh, and it should be noted that it loads fine first, then after a moment goes to the messed up view. Does that indicate a javascript issue, maybe? I don’t know…

Couldn’t find anything like this online or in the forum. Any thoughts?

Default, locked sorting of posting fields

Is there anyway to disable custom dragging and sorting of the posting fields in admin?

From time to time, the fields gets dis-ordered, and I have to sort them back to the way I want it, witch is kinda annoying.

I want this also because I’m going to have other editors on the site, and I want a standardized order for everybody.

I also want the excerpt-field to be above the content-field.
Is all this possible?

Strange word wrap issue in 3.0’s Visual-mode post screen

I recently upgraded my 2.9.2 WP install to 3.0 with basically no issues at all, which was wonderful. However now when I attempt to write a post in the Visual-mode post screen, I get a strange 90-character word wrap going on which looks odd on my 1680×1050 screen. HTML-mode is unaffected by this. Any thoughts?

Addendum: my browser by default is Firefox 3.6, but after this began I also tested it in other browsers I never use – current versions of Internet Explorer and Chrome, with the same result.
