I plan a project based on wpDataTables and would like to know about pros, contras and known limitations with using of remote MySQL over PostgreSQL as separate db/data sources.
Searching in your forum I found only a limited set of threads, without needed informations.
With “known limitations” I mean things like a need of pgsql driver for PostgreSQL connection, which usually isn’t a part of standard WordPress host setup and needs a root server.
We are using a local software in our office for our appointments that has a postgreSQL backend. Does the app allow the sync between this database and the app?
The conversion can be implement by ourself, the interesting part is just whether this is possible on the app side or not.

Take care,

I tested a bit with Form Maker and it`s working well.
I`m thinking of buying the premium version, but there is still a thing I would like to know:
I must (!) get the form-data after submission in a postgreSQL-Table (!) [very important, mySQL will not do what I need).
I wonder if this is somehow possible?
On what ways is it possible to “work” with the form-data?
Is it e.g. possible to send them via JavaScript/Ajax to a php-script that I can develope to get them into postgreSQL?
Or is there a way to get form-data “directly” by a already developd php-function
Thank you very much, Kai
]]>I searched this in forum and I’m aware of the page (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Using_Alternative_Databases).
However, result I found seems old. I wonder, is there any news or relatively new page about PostgreSQL support, or is it completely discarded.
Best Regards,
