Cannot add image (png, jpeg, etc.) but can add pdf, 403 forbidden when posting

I have a self hosted WordPress in a Google Cloud Virtual Machine. I am trying to add a media/image to a post. When I try to add the image, I will receive an error shown below. However, it does not happen when I add other media such as .pdf.

POST?https://philsa.gov.ph/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?403 (Forbidden)

I tried using an inline image block, and tries inserting an image found on web. This can be added to the post. However, when saving the draft or publishing it, I will receive another 403 (Forbidden) error, this time in admin-post.php shown below.

The solutions I tried so far with no avail.

Changing the permissions of wp-admin with chmod 755.
Clearing my browser cache. The self hosted WP does not have a plugin for cache.
Deleting the .htaccess removed the accessibility to the admin page. The page returns 404.

couldn’t retrieve author error

I could post blogs from Jetpack mobile to my website blog before upgrading to WP 6.5.2. Now I get “Couldn’t retrieve author” when I try to post a draft. I tried deactivating all plugins, accept Jetpack and received the same error. I did a test page of the title and text saying text and received the same error. I even did a user to the WP site with the same name and user info thinking mething changed there, and nothing. want to get back to writing drafts from my cell again. Advice and direction needed.

Polylang not for Postings

Hello,
I’m using polylang to have my normal pages translated. However, I would like to have my postings without a language setting. If I use the plugin “latest postings” on the main page, just postings in the language of the main page are displayed. I would like to display all postings and I dont want to create a post version for each language. Is that possible?

Cross Posting Between WP sites

I am publishing a couple of sites that might benefit from having the same post on both (several, even) of them.

I am wondering if there is a plugin or some other way of automating that – as opposed to copy/pasting.

I did some searching here and in the ‘New Plugins’ directory, but it seems all I find there are plugins for cross-posting to social media. That’s not what I want to do.

I realize that might cause some interesting conflicts re: internal linking. I also wonder how dim a view Google might take of such antics.

I will be grateful for any input on the subject.

There is no box to write my post

There is no page to link to. I am starting from scratch after a crash. I have latest WP, GENESIS FRAMEWORK & CHILD THEME. My site is hosted on IONOS.

I can click POST and add a title, meta description but there is literally NO place for me to write a post. All I needed was a simple blog and I’ve been fighting this all day. Any quick suggestions? I am sick of starting over.

Version 5.9.3 Removes Posting Options

WordPress Version 5.9* removes the options for new posts (or editing old posts) to include or change the Categories, Tags, or Featured Images.

As I’ve been told I have to register this problem separately, I am doing so.

I have restored to a backup, I have disabled all Plugins, and at present I am basically sitting on a crippled website because I’m tired of trying to get it to all look/work right when the posting options aren’t available.

I can see this topic treated and closed elsewhere, but it is still occurring!

When posting the screen is not updated with my typing. It appears to get worse the longer the post, but most recently the post was only 230 words…

Post to Google My Business has been really helpful. It works well for us and does what it is supposed to do.

SCRIPT_DEBUG true fixes blank post screen and hanging site health

When I go to my dashboard under site health status I get the message “Results are still loading…” and the circle stays blue and does not turn green.

When I go to create a new post I get a blank window.

I tried to follow the instructions to turn on debug and when I did the problem went away. I found that just adding this line to wp-config.php caused the two issues above to be fixed:

define( ‘SCRIPT_DEBUG’, true );

The wordpress page I got this from says “Use dev versions of core JS and CSS files” so I wonder if my non-dev JS and CSS files are whacked?
