Office 365 – Authentication took more than expected time

If i try to connect with my Office 365 e-mail address and the office 365 extension i always get this error after trying to “Connect to Office 365”:

Auhentication took more than expected time, State provided in redirect does not match expected value, Please try again.

Any idea? I tried to read all logs from my server, but didn’t get any informations about. debug.log is empty too.

I did the right way of the tutorial, tried to reset all settings etc. same problem.

Any solutions?!
P.S.: There is a typo in your error message Auhentication = Authentication i guess.

POST SMTP on port 587 stopped working for no reason

Hi,

I’ve been using POST SMTP for a couple weeks now and it’s been amazing piece of software. However, yesterday it just stopped sending emails. I’m using ovh pro email server. I didn’t belive it’s beacause of the plugin, so I contacted hosting and email provider. They said everyting is fine od server side. I checked it with quick nodemailer test and it’s true, servers are working fine. I’ve read that SEO plugins are causing issue? I don’t know. Please help. Thanks in advance. Here’s diagnostic log:

we have the Problem that some Mails get the error “Connection timed out”. Internal Mails and external. The Sender Mail (our Mail) is a exchange online microsoft adresse.

do you have any ideas? This is the only error i get.

Office 365 Email Connectivity Tips

Hello, I want to share an experience that I hope helps someone in the future. one of my clients, SewISaid.com, called an said their email stopped working. I use PostSMTP for all of my projects, it just keeps things simple to configure AND I get an Email Log that I can inspect when issues like this arise.

The customer centralizes all email sending/receiving via Office365. Per the PostSMTP email log, I saw on 3/24/22 4:33p, email attempts began reporting “Incorrect Authentication Data”, so of course, I immediately check the customer’s M365 Account/Password to ensure nothing has changed and that it still had Authenticated SMTP privileges enabled. Nothing changed.

I missed the PostSMTP Connectivity Test Warning that showed the Server ID was now namehero.net NOT office365.com. So at this point, I knew this was not a problem with M365 or with the PostSMTP Plugin … had to be something with the Web Host Provider.

I opened a Support Ticket with snippets from the Connectivity Test, and you guessed it, they said it was an Office 365 issue and to contact their support. I responded with PostSMTP’s Email Log that showed this was all working just fine until 3/24/22 at 4:33p CDT. And I also pointed out the SMTP requests are NOT going to smtp.office365.com rather to their namehero.net server. So something has changed, but it was within NameHero.

NameHero’s Level III tech replied and asked me to test email again, and everything was working. He said a cPanel upgrade apparently enabled SMTP Restrictions unbeknownst to them and they whitelisted the customer’s cPanel Username, so this shouldn’t be an issue going forward.

So what’s the morale to the story? Use PostSMTP to manage your WP websites email. It saved me so much time not only to setup, but to troubleshoot issues like this quickly. … and I guess the other positive is my customer no longer questions the cost of my website maintenance/support agreements. There will always be issues after a website is developed and delivered.

Possible conflict: PostSTMP and Gravity Forms

I think there may be a conflict between Gravity Forms 2.5.15 – Post SMTP 2.0.23

When a user submits a Gravity form, the email notification is sent correctly and the submission also shows in the GF Entries.

However, the GF Confirmation page is not displayed. Instead, I get the “There Has Been a Critical Error on Your Website — Learn more about debugging” error message.

When I deactivate the Post SMTP plugin, the confirmation page returns — no more error.

Is there anything I can/should do to repair this?

Invalid “Reply-To” e-mail address

YITH abandoned cart emails pruduces the error below. Question is which plugin is at fault, PostSMTP or YITH. No other plugin produces this error.
Does not matter if we choose PHPMailer or PostSMTP but goes away when PostSMTP plugin deactivated.
Obviously the correct header would be just [email protected].

Facing issues with mailpoet and Post SMTP

We have been using mailpoet and it has been working completely fine in sending emails. For the log, we use Post SMTP but the mail sent through mailpoet don’t seem to get logged under Post SMTP nor in our server(Cloudways). We use ElasticEmail as our mail sending service. Any help would be appreciated!
