hi team,
yesterday I discovered an indexed username, while publicname is set to some other name

nickname automatically created as a public name

I use Restrict Content Pro, but can not find any forum where I can ask. After registration via Restrict Content Pro, the nickname is created in WordPress, but not the public name. Normally this works with WordPress automatically. How can I set the Restrict Content Pro so that the nickname is automatically created as a public name? Thanks for your help

Display Name Publicly

Can I just say what a great little plug-in. It does everything I need it to do and I’m so glad I was recommended it by Chris Lema and using it together with Members, is a dream.

I had a few things to fiddle about with, for some reason the SMTP sending doesn’t work with my settings, but I can get round that.

So a couple of things that would make it completely perfect…

1. I can’t see the right column name to put for propegating the ‘Display Name Publicly” field. Is there a way to do this. It’s just that the username for this set is a membership number and I’d rather it defaulted to their name or nickname.

2. I doubt this is possible, but is there anyway to untick automatically the “show toolbar when viewing site” (this maybe a wordpress default I have to deal with, but I thought I’d ask.

3. This is I’m sure, unlikely, but I have a BBpress forum set up on the site and would love to have imported members automatically listed as Participants. I wondered if there’s anyone who’s asked this and whether I can marry the two fields somehow.

Anyway, thanks so much for being the solution I required and it being so nicely done.

"Display name publicly as" not changing

Hi, I am running Woocommerce with Dokan theme, all my sellers names are showing my name & whenever I try to change their names from Users=> dropdown list of “Display name publicly as” and then click on Update User, nothing happens and my name is still showing as the seller’s name!

any advice?

Show user name

Hi Camu,

When we show user name it seems that we don’t show the name we have set in our profile as public name. It seems that we get our user name instead. Can this be changed in future versions? I hope you understand what I mean, in wp-profile page we chose which name we want to show as public and I want this name to be showned and not my real user name I use when I login to wp.

Edit: I want the “Display name publicly as” to be showned instead of “Username”.
