How to make posts display on blog page as excerpts

Hi, I’m trying to make some changes and can’t figure this one out. It’s already using a child theme. I found some instructions for making changes to either the archive, index or category.php files but the code they say to change isn’t what is in use. My .php is rudimentary at best. What do I need to do?

Headlines & Featured Images missing

Hi Anthony,

I noticed that all my featured images and headlines are not showing up on my blog page, so it looks like one long article. When I go into the edit mode for each post, the headlines and the featured images are all there, they are suddenly not displayed anymore.

Have deactivated all plug ins to check if there was an incompatibility but that didn’t change anything.

Not sure which WP upgrade this happened at.

I appreciate help with this as i am not super tech savvy.

Headlines & Featured Images missing on blog

When I went to my site a few months back, i noticed that the headlines and featured images are not showing on any of my individual blog posts or the blog archive page where you see them all (link below).

I deactivated all plug ins but that didn’t change anything. It must have happened after one of the WP updates, not sure as I didn’t notice it until i happened to look on my site to send a link to a client. The site is on the lastest version before 5.0 Gutenberg.

Any idea what the issue is? My theme is Quark and I have used that for a few years now without any issues.

Grid 6 colums per row

Hi, i tried to customized the index to display 6 posts per row, i removed the sidebar and only shows thumbnail and title.

I changed the class to .grid_2_of_12 but i cannot achive to move post aside each other.

Any hint?

I would like the read more…. or continue reading…. to be automatically insert on both the blog and category pages without having to insert the tag in the editor.

Menu has unwanted block text

Issue:
My issue is that the menu presents a block/rectangle on the menu when the tab has more than one destination/link underneath it.

Example:
Instead of the menu appearing as “Volunteer Information”, it appears instead as “Volunteer Information ?”

Details:
-Theme is Quark
-Wordpress version is 4.3, but the problem began before the update
-The “?” symbol issue also presents itself in place of social media icons at the top of the website

Double Page and Site Titles

Firstly, I love how easy your theme is to work with!

My problem is I am getting double page and site titles on my pages. When googling the error, I can only find people having errors with yoast seo, but in fact I ended up using yoast seo to fix the double titles. Yoast didnt fix all the titles, you can still see double titles here:

adding additional social media

Is there a way to add additional social media? I want to add Vine to the social media icons. I looked it up in font awesome, there is a Vine icon. I tried adding vine to the array in the social media function, in the functions file. It didn’t bring it up in the theme options page. Is there somewhere else I can add it?

Android tablet double tapping issues on sub Menu Navigation

First of all, I love Quark! This is an awesome starter theme and I haven’t had any problems with it. I do have a question about something you did not on the demo site but the site quarktheme.com.

On the home page it looks like you have a few different pages stacked on the home page, with different background colors. Can you tell me how you did this?
