Random display of specific posts

Hi;

How can I display four specific posts in random order every time the website has been refreshed?

I know the orderby=rand option but that doesn’t accomplish what I wish to do. I want to display only the four latest posts in random order, the rest of the posts I perform another query on.

I used ‘posts_per_page=4&orderby=rand but that gives me four random posts. Again not what I wish to accomplish.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Hi again!
I want to display random blog posts in my right hand sidebar using the Hueman Theme. Hueman Dynamic Tabs displays a perfect layout with thumbnail and blog title. How do I get it to display them randomly?

The top of the right sidebar displays the layout I want (thumbnail to the left and blog title to the right) but I can’t control how the posts are displayed. In the bottom part of the right sidebar I have tried using Category Posts Sidebar Widget, but this layout doesn’t display well and I can’t control the size of the headings (also the fontsize of the headings change when I navigate the website – very odd).

gallery images will not display randomly

After selecting Basic Slideshow and then Sources>Random Images with number to display set to the number in the gallery – 240 – the slideshow displays in image sort order. If I select Sources>Galleries and then select the desired gallery – there is no option to select “random”. Wht is the correct procedure to display an entire gallery in random order?

Hi. I’ve seen this request before on the forum and I was hoping the latest version of the plugin would have it, but it does not. I am using your plugin in the footer of every page of our site. It would be great if it would randomly display one active Agent every time the widget loads. Can you please consider adding that? Otherwise, the Real Estate Agency’s Admin must remember to frequently and manually change the one agent of the 18 they have to show. Thanks.

Could you tell me what code I need to insert into the shortcode to display the posts in a random manner? I have tried order_by = random and order-by = random and neither of them worked.

Just thinking, I assume that this displays the posts in a random manner.

Is it possible to display a random post from a fixed category everytime the page is refreshed?

I want to post inspirational quotes, and then randomly display them in my blog’s footer. And if possible, I prefer not to use a plug-in.

Can anybody help?
