My site has 5000 media entries that lost their post/page attachment details during import, so they are “un-attached”
After running media cleaner and selecting the “References” tab, there’s a over 5000 references containing Ids, Media and URLs and links to origin IDs.
The Re-Attach Media button remains greyed out and disappears when selecting any rows. Does this mean the media can’t be attached, it’s a Pro feature (it doesn’t mention that in the plugin docs) or something else?
Running latest version of WP on bedrock, with the latest version of Media Cleaner.

You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/upload.php on this server.
This happens when I want to reconnect some pictures to a posting (when the initial relation is not existing). I always need to rename the .htaccess file, then doing my changes and rename back to .htaccess. So I assume that something is blocked from .htaccess. What need to be done to not use this work around?

all the posts listed above should have thumbnails. The thumbs don’t show because the images are not attached to their posts.
[all recent posts have image attachments, its the older posts that are missing the attachment]
the worst part is when i go in an hit “reattach” to the post it was going to, nothing happens and it remains the same blue question. but even if i were to go in an re-attach them all somehow, would this all happen again?
i hope there is a giant “restore” photos button.
]]>There are two very common ways of uploading an image to WordPress to place it into the Media Gallery.
On upload alone, the first method does NOT attach the uploaded image to any particular post, but one manually attaches it later.
The second method attaches the uploaded image to the post it was uploaded through.
When I use the first method, there is a way to sort the listing for “unattached images” which you can select and then attach to a particular post. However, there is no way afterwards, to detach and re-attach an image, without altogether deleting that image from the Media gallery and re-uploading it and attaching it to a different post.
This is an entirely inefficient process, and while I appreciate all of the hard work that the WordPress team is putting in to making WordPress have media-gallery abilities, I think that a native WordPress option to detach and re-attach images to posts should be inserted into the base code to complete this functionality already half-offered.
In the meantime, does anyone know of a plugin, php script or coding approach to attach, detach and reattach/re-assign images within the Media gallery that WordPress already has built into it?
