Hello,

I am using the code below to allow my blog excerpts to wrap around featured image thumbnails on the archive pages rather than appearing below the image. Because the excerpts use the “read more” code which includes a dashed line above it, I am now seeing the line faintly cutting through my text: https://i.imgur.com/cokRezx.png

Is there any way to hide the dashed line used in the “Read More” tag without hiding the text of the tag?

‘Read more’ tag doesn’t work?

Hello,

It seems that the publication type with the ‘Read more’ tag does not work or I am doing something wrong.
I added the ‘Read more’ tag to the post > https://i.imgur.com/qwFSPc5.jpg
And I chose these plugin settings > https://i.imgur.com/vq8EIR1.jpg

However, when publishing the plugin ignores the presence of the tag in the post and still publishes a fixed value of words to the telegram message that set in the plugin. Am I doing something wrong? Can someone give me a hint what I doing wrong, please?

I’ve been using the Read More tag in my posts partly to control what information is sent in the subscriber/follower new post notification. Material below the Read More tag has not been included in the new post notification email prior to updating to WP5.3. With the first post I created today under 5.3 (by copying an existing post and modifying it as i usually do), the new post notification email went out with the full text of the new post seeming to not honor the Read More tag any longer. Settings > reading > For each post in a feed, include is set to Summary. The behavior seems to have changed. Any suggestions?

Adding a read more tag to a post will make it impossible to save

Hi all,

Im not at all an experienced web builder, but I’m in charge of my sportsclubs website now since the last webmaster quit. I’m having some trouble with adding read more tags to my latest posts. (www.kcdoorn.nl)

I’ve not encountered this problem before, but since today when I add a read more tag to a post and press save it goes to a 404 page. Though when I take out the tag I can change and save anything I want like normal. The problem only occurs with the read more tag.

If you check my homepage you’ll see its quite important tot use those tags to keep the site tidy.

Any ideas what is going wrong?

EDIT: I just tried to go to the settings of the element that loads the posts. There I changed the settings to it automatically cuts the posts shorts and adds a read more tag. But here also I coudn’t save the changes… Translated error: “Failed to save, something went wrong while saving your page. There might be multiple causes…”

Front page not showing Read More button

On my front page, which is set to show my posts, it doesn’t show a Read More button for any post. I’ve tried other themes. Some have the same problem. Some don’t. Is there a way to fix this theme? It is called Winter Blues. I’ve also tried the Excerpt field but that front page is not using it.

On the theme’s detail page, I cannot find any way to contact the author of the theme either.

Issues with the Read More Tag after editor update

Hello forum,

I have issues with the “read more tag” when I have the blog posts on the homepage and the blog page. The problem occurred with the new editor. If I add a “block” it works on the homepage but not on the blog page. And if I add the old code it works on the blogpage but not on the homepage.

If i copy paste the code from an old post from the classic editor and then just change the text to the new post, it works for both the homepage and the blog page, but its really time consuming and not so nice.
