It seems that some kind of cache systems, like nginx as reverse proxy or Cloudflare is caching the pages in a fixed light or dark mode, so the stored session cookie in the client browser doesn’t work. It doesn’t matter if you activate or deactivate the dark mode because when you browse into another page it doesn’t remember your previous choice. So it seems that there is some kind of problem and this plugin is not smart enough to know how to deal with statically cached pages.

That’s why it’s needed a guide or some procedure into the plugin to avoid this or to tell the user how to setup the system to avoid this undesired behaviour. Right now it’s not working as expected. If the page is cached as dark enabled, then it’s delivered that way to the user no matter what the preferences (in a cookie) are. And if it’s cached in dark mode, it happens the same, all users receive the same dark page without considering the stored preferences into each browser.

It would be great if the plugin added support for the wp_set_auth_cookie() ‘remember’ second argument. It would have to be added to the login form and passed as another $_GET[‘remember’] value.

Any reason why it could cause issue?

I’ve been using this plugin to log in users to our WordPress site with external accounts and it works like a charm.

But one thing I can’t figure out is how to mimic the “Remember me” functionality that WordPress’s built-in login system has. Right now users are logged out after a pretty short duration, so I was hoping there was a way to keep them logged in for longer.

Remember to update the passwords and roles of imported users.

Persistency for Anonymous User

This plugins doesn’t seem to cater for persistency for anonymous user.

For example, if the anonymous user doesn’t wish to log in but he wish to attempt the quiz, there is no persistency if, let’s say, the user accidentally refresh the page at question 2. The quiz loads back to question 1 all over again.

Another example would be if the user has completed the quiz. After that he browse to other parts of the website, then he wish to re-attempt the quiz. I would want to show to the user that he has done the quiz. Is there a way to implement this persistency so that the plugin can remember the session?

List View is applied to Related Products

I noticed the plugin/browser remember the option view you clicked, the problem is that if you clicked the list view it is also applied to the “Related Products” on the products page in WooCommerce.

Is there a way in the plugin code to not save the option you clicked and that way it keeps in the default view when you see the related products on the product page?

Yeahhh… about to trash this plugin.

Can’t turn off 2FA for admins.

“Allow remembering device for 30 days” sounds good so I don’t have to do the 2FA dance with every login. Not sure how this works, but I’m never remembered.

“Whitelisted IP addresses that bypass 2FA”: great idea. I whitelisted all the IPs in my ISP’s usual range. Got 2FA’ed again today and my IP has not changed. I’m smack dab in the middle of the range: xx.90.218.[0-255] (where xx is a two digit number). It’s on a line by itself. Just like the examples provided in the backend.

That’s two basic bugs in this security plugin.

I like your competitor, All in One Security. It works. Buggy security software makes my skin crawl.

How to keep users logged in?

There doesn’t seem to be a “Remember Me” setting on the ProfileGrid login page and I am logged out every time I reopen my browser. Is there an option somewhere in ProfileGrid to keep users logged in automatically or if not, could you suggest a work around?
