Resized header image, now showing grey background with Mobile and Tablet views

Hi, I have resized the Header image of my 2017 Theme by adding this CSS:

.entry-title {
display: none;
}
.twentyseventeen-front-page.has-header-image .custom-header-media{
height: 700px !important; // set your height
}

It looks good on the PC, but it shows a grey background area between the Menu and Page Title on mobile and tablet view.

Is there a way to remove the grey background?

Hi! I’m having trouble finding a way to delete the header image that automatically appears on every page of my site. If I can not delete it, is there a way to resize it and make it much smaller? I’d appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

Using MAKE Version: 1.9.13

I have a custom jpeg of 594×228 pixels. I first loaded it (align: left) and it posted fine except a tad too large.

I tried to replace it with a smaller image and both images showed on top of one another. I was able to delete the larger image but would like to reload one half way between the two. Oddly enough it is actually the larger of the two images that is uploaded, but it shows up as small.

When I go BACKGROUND > HEADER to “load image” there is no delete button to delete the existing one. When I use the options of “size” at the bottom of that area under customizing, both “auto” and “cover” blow the image up HUGE. “CONTAIN” makes it smaller than it’s actual size.

Please assist. Thank you

Let me start off by saying I have very limited knowledge of HTML and CSS. What I would like to do is have the header image automatically resize to fit in any size screen. I have a company logo as my header image and when viewing on a mobile device only 1/3 of the image shows and it looks terrible. I would appreciate any guidance I can get. Thanks so much!

Please could someone advise if there is a way in ColorMag that I can reduce my header height?
It’s too large and taking up too much space on my landing page, with scrolling to get to the content past the header.

I want my header image in the twenty thirteen theme to scale based on the size of the browser window. I’m using a child theme, and would like to try to keep any additional code there.

Currently, I’m using this (which I found on another discussion):

/* Header Responsive */
.site-header {
	background-size: 100% 84% !important;
}

It works right for the header image, but when I make the browser window more narrow, I’m left with a huge white gap at the bottom where the picture no longer fills the header.
