Backup failed at the very beginning. This i s a migration from old server with a small file. I have even uploaded the backup file to new sever and used the migration link with same issue.

I get an error every time I try to restore a backup.

Temporary files created in **SITE-ROOT**/wp-content/wpclone-temp will be deleted.

It accepts my backup, and starts the process, and then I get an error almost immediately.

I took a lot of backups and restoration before and I didn’t face the issue that I had today. The problem is, when I restore the backup files, the restoration stuck at one level and didn’t move for the next files. For about 1 minute it stuck and finally, it resulted in Finished but the plugins, themes, uploads, other and cleaning was not restored. It stuck at wp65_eum_logs file (database). Attached is the screenshot for reference. Let me know what the issue is.

I’ve a backup that I want to restore but every time I try to restore i Get this error:
Error 203: Your backup could not be unzipped

I’ve downloaded the files to my local computer and removed it from hosting and then I uploaded it back but not able to restore.

please help.

Hi,

I’m unable to restore an UpdraftPlus backup. It seems to go wrong somewhere in the plugin section of the restoration.

The message I get is: “UpdraftPlus Restore error: HTML was detected in the response. You may have a security module on your webserver blocking the restoration operation.”

If it matters, I’ve been able to restore UpdraftPlus backups on this website before (a month or two ago) without any issues.

Cannot restore website

My webiste went down and I tried to restore it with Vivid plugin using vivid backups which I uploaded to the site. Half way through it came up with “undefined error” then tells me that an [error]backup failed error unknown.

What can I do?

Hi, we are trying to restore a backup and am getting errors. We asked GoDaddy to try and help and they emailed us this (were at day 4 of being down):

I have been able to track down the issues with restoring the database backup you have provided. There are syntax errors in the backup file itself. It seems that the plugin that you used to back up the content may have caused these errors. A suggestion that I have if our admin team is unable to get this taken care of on their end, would be to reach out to that plugin developer to see if they are able to further assist with the backup that they have provided for you. They may have a specific restore procedure for it to work with this type of backup.

The good news is that it does show to have full contents of the database, its just a matter of getting it imported which seems to be the issue we are seeing here.

I’ve read through a number of possible errors and this one seems unique. Backups (6 sites) all worked successfully, with success messages. Cloning to a new site with a fresh WordPress install, following standard instructions, once again get a success message. When I click on any link (including view your site, fix your Permalinks) I’m presented with the WordPress install page (Site name, Admin user name and password, email) and once I submit, everything reverts to a blank new site with the WP Clone plug-in installed but deactivated.

It’s like the film Groundhog Day. Any thoughts?
