Is there a plugin that will allow me to restrict certain user groups from posting to specific categories?

Is there a way to only show a single or certain category to those logged in to my site?

What I want, is logged in users to be able to see certain car=tegories, just the ones OI want them to post to.

Is that possible?

I’m building a blog for family that requires me to set it up that ‘normal members’ can only create posts in certain categories.

To achieve this I tried User Cats Manager plugin, but that restricts guests to view certain categories..

I am trying to adjust wordpress to do the following:

When post is created I want it to add itself to whatever category the user selects as well as my default category.

Right now if the user picks a category it only assisgns the post to the select category.

To be clear the category I want everything added to no matter what the user selects for category is a category we have call ALL.

For all posts.

I have over 500 categories on my WP. I have 10 main categories and the rest are children.
Now I want to create a custom write panel for each parent category and have only children of selected category listed in category checklist.

Is anyone can help?

For example, I have 2 categories, Books and Reviews. I want Contributors to be able to publish Review posts, but not be able to publish Book posts.

Is this possible, either with some modification or plugin or something that’s already in WordPress?

Owen Winkler’s Limit Categories plugin seems like it would do exactly what I want, but it does not work with 2.7. Does anyone have a working version of his plugin or know of another plugin that would limit categories users can post to that works with 2.7?
